But it's the light-up wheels that make it stand out from the crowd – and as one of our child testers, Arthur, 2, said, the LEDs make it feel "very cool" to ride.

On the flip side, with our taller rider in size 5 clothes, the smaller build of the AIRO worked to her disadvantage as the narrow handlebars and shorter wheelbase (as compared to larger 14″ balance bikes), were simply too short to provide her a stable base.Just the right size for storing snacks, toy cars or random sticks discovered along the way, it was a big hit. Carrie's mission is to empower parents with information they can't get anywhere else - because at Two Wheeling Tots, WE PERSONALLY TEST EVERY PRODUCT WE RECOMMEND!

Already confident on a balance bike, he hopped on the AIRO and began zipping down the driveway and around the sidewalk. A barely 2-year-old tester still in 18-months clothes, a three-year-old in 3T clothes, and an almost 4-year-old in size 5 clothes. The thing we all struggled with at the start was balance but now there’s a solution for parents of toddlers and pre-schoolers keen to get going on two wheels. They've sent us a Hornit AIRO to review and we've given the balance bike to a keen 2 year old Cycle Sprog to test it out for us. Even though the seat was adjusted for her little sister, this 5yo had a great time zipping around the driveway.

My only issue with the frame is that I struggle to see the need for the plastic insert in the frame which adds nothing to the quality of the frame and seems to be there purely for cosmetic reasons. If you’re able to afford it (or have a generous grandparent on hand), the AIRO amply rewards the investment. Once confident they can also hop their feet up and be pushed along, which my tester loves and my back does not!

BEAUTIFULLY SLEEK DESIGN: the grip taped footrests are contoured into the frame for easy freewheeling, air-filled rubber tires for a smoother ride and a padded stem for extra protection. With adjustable handlebars and an adjustable seat suitable for a 100-110cm height range, this balance bike is such a great choice for taller kids or older children who are still working towards transitioning to a pedal bike. taller than our 3-year-old tester previously shown, it quickly became clear that she was simply too big for the AIRO. The balance bike mode is suitable for ages two and up, although due to the weight of the bike (a not-insignificant 6.Suitable for children three years and over, it comes with an adjustable seat that goes from 36-42cm in height. Hornit does not currently sell a wider bar for older riders, which is the main reason why we don’t recommend it for taller riders. Couple that with thoughtfully designed footrests and rounded edges, the Airo is sharp looking and friendly to little riders. Suitable for riders with a minimum inside leg measurement of 40cm, the bike is ideally suited to taller 3 year olds and 4 to 5 year olds who want to get to grips with balancing and steering before moving onto pedalling on the same cycle. It's available in a chic range of colours, including Blossom Pink, Duck Egg Blue, Cerise, Yellow and Green.

With a lightweight composite frame, it has 30cm air wheels for a smooth, safe ride and is made of replaceable, recyclable components. Choosing a balance bike first helps youngsters learn the two most difficult bits – balance while sitting and moving. Magnesium frames have never really taken off in the cycling world, but their lightweight and ability to be shaped into complex curves means it's well suited to the Hornit AIRO. LEVITATINGLY LIGHT BALANCE BIKE: 12" balance bike made from a super lightweight, ultra-hard-wearing magnesium alloy, this balance bike weighs just 2.Unbox, straighten the handlebars, adjust the seat height, and tighten a few screws with the provided hex wrench. The adjustable seat means the AIRO is suitable for a child with an inside leg measurement of 30cm to 46cm (11.
