I ended up using all my lotion but kept the spray. It is as strong and long lasting as an EDT and now I really love wearing it. I even poured some into a little atomizer spray bottle. I have two editions one is older in a hair spray looking bottle and a body lotion in pink. This is pretty good stuff for putting on during a shower. It's girly and very easy to wear. It smells like it suits younger girls (18 or under but 18 and up and I mean way up (40 and up) could wear it too I guess. It has no real age. It also has no gender because I think it is neither too feminine or masculine and can pass for unisex. So this is fruity, floral, woodsy, musky. It's also a tad spicy with cinnamon. It opens with some green apple. It's very distinct like slices of green apples. Then it smells of light plum and pear. Fruity and fresh as it starts. Then it gets floral with what I felt as being rose, tuberose and lily. I'm sorry but for the life of me I can't smell the cherry blossom. Maybe my bottle is not doing what it's supposed to do or I am not familiar with cherry blossom enough to know what it smells like. If it's supposed to smell like cherry this does not smell of cherry. It's definitely floral and a bit fruity but the fruit is not cherry at all. It's clearly apple and pear. It’s been really interesting revisiting the fragrances that resonated with me when I was younger now that I’ve had a few years away, and have moved into different scents. I remember never really being able to say what this smelled like, which I’m sure is part of why I liked it. It was maybe the first fascinating (to me, at least) scent I owned. It was stronger and felt darker, sultrier than the other things I’d worn up to that point; Strawberries and Champagne by Victoria’s Secret, Dolly Girl by Anna Sui, Hula by Roxy, Chanel Chance. I started wearing it in college, and it seemed appropriate. It was a break from my girlhood; it felt sophisticated, maybe how I imagined the woman I wanted to become would smell. There are many superb Orientals like Shalimar, Emeraude, Samsara and Mitsuoko that are timeless and beloved perfumes. While Japanese Cherry Blossom by Bath and Body Works are nowhere near the level of sophistication of Shalimar, this is no less an Oriental. The fragrance might not last very long, and the projection and sillage is poor, but it's like a little breeze when you spray it, a light gust of wind from the Orient, blowing cooly on cherry blossom. In Japan, the cherry blossom is the equivalent to the rose in England; it's their signature flower. These fragrant flowers grow on trees caressed by winds and are found even in the gardens of the Imperial Palace. Everywhere in Japan you see the pink and white cherry blossoms remindng you where you are: in the Far East. This fragrance is subtle but it takes you to Japan for at least a couple of minutes. I found it sweet and comfortng, like drinking green tea under a cherry blossom and under a delicious breeze.

If I had to describe this scent, I'd say it's floraly, fruity, musky, and woody. The cherry blossom note is the most dominant in the fragrance, which smells fresh, powdery, and subtly sweet. The fruity quality to the fragrance provides a watery feel, rather than a sugary sweet one. The musk adds heavyness and softness to the fragrance. The woody notes provide some subtle spice to it. It's beautifully blended, and it's very sophisticated by Bath & Body Works standards. My JCB is an old bottle of the body spray that I hung onto. I used to wear it with the lotion but it got to be too strong and overbearing for me. I do not find this scent terribly sweet, as the listed top notes of plum, pear, and apple might lead one to expect. It seems clean and neutral in a unique way. I know of no fragrance to which this one compares, aside from the one used to scent the BBW body product line "self-meditation," which claims to be rice-laden, and which I also like, but I believe has been discontinued.

Japanese Cherry Blossom from Bath & Body Works

As I said the scent is simple yet paradoxal because while it is a bubbly sort of scent it also, on me at least, has some warmth and a good bit of muskiness and that makes it extremely comforting. At first spritz, the spiciness is center stage. Definitely cinnamon, and I'm assuming the cedar and patchouli. Very challenging if you've only recently been introduced to JCB, but it's glorious in comparison to the swill they're charging money for these days. i wish the edt had this intensity and longivity as the roomspray. bought the luxe travel edt spray to reaply when i m out of home, small enough to get in every purse :) indeed a wonderful scent for springtime and summer! the special edition flacons are truly adorable with its japanese red metalic cap and blossoms over the puristic elegant flacons.

Am I the only one who thinks that this smells like shampoo out of the bottle? At first, I didn't like it but I agree with my brother, it smells cool. It reminds me of cold weather and rainy days at night. Then I put some on my skin and wow, it smells amazing! It's all about floral and fruity that is not cloying but rather comforting if you give it a minute. This is also that kind of mist that could be compared to expensive perfumes because it does not smell cheap to me. Yeah I know I said that it smells like shampoo but it's not like your typical shampoo. Expensive shampoo, maybe? Ugh, I'm bad at comparing but my brothers like this one. This is perfect to wear in cold weather but also all year round. I can say that it is distinct from all the mists of BBW. It smells amazing! I did say it twice even though it smells like shampoo before but I changed my mind. One of my favorites! Also, this stays on my skin longer than I expected unlike the other mists which is a plus.At first its a bit strong but after 30min this turns to something heavenly. The best part that I loved about it is it blend well with my body heat. The more heat my body produce the more stronger the heavenly smells wafting. When I wear it I pair it with Bodycology Japanese Cherry Blossom body cream and it's really pretty. I enjoy wearing this again and I should go test the new formula to compare. My old body spray has really stayed in tact and still smells wonderful. You can wear this to work, the office, school, University, a date, an outing with friends, the beach and so forth. Smells like it is best worn in spring and summer. Japanese Cherry Blossom – America’s most iconic feminine fragrance loved for its timeless, authentic beauty. This fresh, versatile, floral scent is a graceful blend of cherry blossom, Asian pear, fresh mimosa petals, white jasmine and blushing sandalwood. It’s perfect for brunch dates, days in the office, nights out and even lounging around the house. What makes Japanese Cherry Blossom so amazing? You’re about to find out…

Japanese cherry blossom is a powerful, yet discreet fume to me that doesn't want to try too hard to get your attention. What I particularly in JCB like, is that it's there without being too much. What I smell is a mixture of fruity, floral, woody and gourmand. It really has the potential to be either! I sometimes think it smells like butter and marmalade on toast, while the other moment I smell something like a woody pomegranate, then something like combination of red apple and citrus (red apple and fortunately not green apple, that I dislike). It smells a little like cherry in the air, but much better and ladylike. Once the spice recedes, the fruits and florals come through nice and strong. Then on the dry down, you're left with an absolutely gorgeous pear, cherry blossom, slightly powdery, vanilla-amber scent. Maybe a little sandalwood in there too. This final stage is what most people would imagine when they think of JCB. But this is the real deal, not the ghost that people have become accustomed to. It's so comforting and beautiful. The sillage and longevity are pretty darn good as well, I have to say.I was gifted with a powerful lotion of this. Upon application I was hit with the memory of that blossom, wrapped around something like berries and a brown sugar cube. Not 100% my style of scent as it reminds me of too many other faceless women who leaped for this kind of "musky floral" as their constant signature over the years. However, I don't hate it because of its versatility. Anyone can wear this if they can *own* it. It has really good projection on me without being to strong of a scent to choke people out if that makes sense and lasts all day on my skin and for ages on my clothing. The EDT is absolutely AMAZING. I bought it brand new I believe, if not close to it. I know that after 10-15 years it has probably steeped a bit, and is a little more concentrated than it was when it was released. But I was surprised by how complex it was! As you can see from the notes, it had far more personality than the current retail offering. And it really does not disappoint.
