There's something so soothing, light and fluffy about Cathy Cassidy's writing that makes it such a joy to read. She addresses themes highly relevant to them, enfranchising them to work through their own traumas alongside her characters.

I can definitely see why I used to love these books, and whilst I don't anymore, I can still like them - though nostalgia may have a large part to play in that. Both the mother and father characters are previously divorced and have decided to try blending their families – and now they are all stepsisters. Yes, the romance and everything was cheesy as hell, but it was also really sweet, and the gypsy caravan and the little fish pond were very cute. I would not recommend this to younger readers but if you are older love romance and action then you will surely love this book. Resta il fatto che Cherry non è Skye e questo si sente di brutto: la protagonista è una bugiarda patologica che usa l'immaginazione per scappare dalla realtà e sentirsi accettata, ma anziché suscitare empatia ti fa girare il cazzo per 3/4 del romanzo. I am not familiar with the author, but the cover was very cute and tempted (pink, heart shape, chocolates, cute title etc, just see it yourself =9) so i tried this. I felt like the romance was a bit off – the two characters make out as if they have chemistry when they really don’t… or at least haven’t had enough time to develop any. They're definitely the most standout characters of this book and it's honestly what I think I'll be continuing the series for, if not already for the sweets. It's mainly aimed at 8-12 YEAR olds, though don't be ashamed if you find yourself reading it when you're older!
