About this deal
You've just arrived in a place where humans are eaten, and someone puts a key under the door to your locked room. A) Think (amongst all these people who kill humans for sport and nibbles), somebody likes me and is trying to save me.
I had the privilege of beta reading this earlier this summer and cannot wait for everyone else to fall in love with this book too! But he was treating her with respect (he was handsome), he protected her (he was also handsome) and so much more.Yet, she is constantly insulting everyone, talking back, and refusing everything they say even when it’s in her best interest. As the story unfolds, the tension between them builds as they both struggle to navigate their complicated bond.
I don't know where the exits are or how to get out of this realm and if someone finds me I'll be murdered on the spot. I sometimes want to smack to protagonist for being so difficult but I could also understand where she was coming from. She can usually be found reading fairytale retellings, playing board games or binge-watching Netflix shows. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. She didn't go overboard with the darker details but enough to give the reader an idea of it being a tough place for humans to live.
Very unsubtle writing as well, everything is spelled out and don’t forget the extra swear words for emphasis that just felt cringe. A 5 stars book tends to have me raging about cliff hangers and stalking the author for release dates. I'd recommend this book if you are looking for an easy to read, fast-paced romantasy book with fae and that has an enemies-to-lovers trope.
