Which just so happen to hold importance, as it played a big part of the storyline since it carried a link between them all. They were clearly fighting their attraction and connection with Cyn at every turn and failed more often than not and then would punish her to reset that boundary.
Each story exists within this shared world but is standalone, although characters occasionally cross over. It may be a love-hate relationship between most of them, but the tension is so delicious I just love them. also these characters are so incompatible i don’t understand what the author was trying to do to make them all a couple like she needs to take notes from the bonds series bc while it was slow it had a great plot that made up for it and the slowburn really added to the story.
The author won't do us dirty, she will give us tons of steam in book 2 I bet, just with how her other books have panned out and this one being more than 50% in flashbacks as kids it makes sense. We get the flashbacks and present time in book 1 so we get to see why they treat her now the way they do. They studied in the same board school for “damaged” kids, and their interactions back then were a mix of the 3 boys making the girl’s life a living hell, trying at all costs to make her talk (or moan, or scream), and she snogging one of them. Cyn's secrets are finally out in the open, the Deana-Dhe have to go to war, and the fireworks are going to go off with some reunions. They've brought her to their home (they live on their own island in a spooky old monastery) to make Diamonds for them (a special drug). First of all, I would like to say that I have loved the Deana-Dhe from the second we met them in Academy of Stardom and their story was well worth the wait! The mysterious trio have been present in a lot of Bea Paige's stories and to finally get into their heads has been incredible.
Having read the Academy of Stardom series, I couldn't wait to know the story of the Deana-dhe and their love story.The story alternated between their past and present-day, allowing the reader absolute insight into the twisted relationship these four share. And Cyn she is a special badass lady in how she put up with these guys in there past, she is a saint in my eyes.
