Their revenge was really satisfying to see, we knew what was going to happen since the first book but seeing the action play out from her side was oddly gratifying. The plot was a bit more developed here and the story was as entertaining as 𝐇𝐒𝐓𝐓 with even more violence, murder and a lot of emotional moments. Even though this completely stands on its own, and has its own very different plot points and points of view of what is going on during this time!

As much as this book is one of my most anticipated books of the year for me, I was worried about it being around the same timeline, details would be left out or changed. Zane goes through a change too and I enjoyed his sarcastic remarks, dark dominant side but also him being vulnerable and turning the power over to Juniper in their relationship. ZaneI\'ve been hunting souls for centuries, but she\'s the ultimate prize - vicious and feral, with a broken soul as dark as my own.This man/demon is just absolute perfection and I would literally do anything to have someone like him! This rating hurts me a lot and even tho i knew, 𝐈 𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐖 i wasn't gonna loves this as much as 𝐇𝐒𝐓𝐓 because 𝐈 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐃 𝐋𝐄𝐎𝐍 so so much. Although he's not written like a thousand year old demon (he behaves, thinks, talks more like a young adult), he's the interesting thing in this book. yeah I took him seriously HAHA <3 He was a gentleman and sweetheart when he wanted to so 😌💗 and his petname for Juniper towards the end is "love" 😭😭😭 (so much better than bbg).

We follow them as Juniper tries to fight her demons while also struggling with all the new feelings Zane is making her feel and also their banter and their hate fucking on every surface possible. You know in some books where the MC wants revenge but ends up being "the bigger person😌" and decides to kill them with kindness? This book does not take place after the first book, it is about Juniper and Zane during the plot of the first book. Although both Zane and Juniper are often very intense, they each have their soft moments where you can tell that they're just bestfriends while also being lovers. I chose to follow her on a path drenched with the blood of her enemies, but it\'s our blood that may be spilled next.
