As I mentioned Inglourious Basterds isn’t an especially colorful film however its cooler chromatic hues, sepia tones and variants of green/red benefited from UHD's wider color gamut, appearing warmer and pleasing to the eye.

We reviewed the UK 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Inglourious Basterds on an LG 55B7 Dolby Vision 4K Ultra HD OLED TV with a Panasonic DP-UB820EB-K Dolby Vision HDR10+ 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player . The conversation doesn’t make up for the lack of a feature-length commentary, but it’s an interesting and enlightening chat nonetheless. DTS-HD Master Audio as the previous Blu-ray, but it’s worth pointing out that the original track was close to reference quality, and still sounds amazing here. One walks into Inglourious Basterds expecting anachronism, but one doesn’t anticipate Tarantino’s frank confession that cinema, like killing Nazis for the Basterds, is a way to live out his male wish-fulfillment fantasies.Inlgourious Basterds is a powerhouse of everything we know from Quentin Tarantino up until that point. It’s still among Tarantino’s most entertaining efforts, but if you already own the previous release, the minor improvements to video quality along with the recycled audio track and supplements make this “upgrade” a bit difficult to justify. The seams of the film's construction — Inglourious Basterds is "a collection of scenes" rather than a flowing narrative — are intentional, heightened by the literal chapter titles punctuating each vignette.

Universal does not appear to have done that here, rendering the film’s upgrade to UHD somewhat inert. Inglourious Basterds was shot on 35mm film and finished on a 2K Digital Intermediate for its presentation on Ultra HD Blu-ray.Please note that if you choose to remove the shrink wrap, any resulting damages will not be our responsibility. The graders pushed this so well to make it pop in HDR, colors are vibrant yet not overly, nice punchy contrast with light sources coming off sooo realistic.
