About this deal

There is a marvellous introduction by Eric Idle and you can tell that Marty was valued highly by his peers and collaborators.

Feldman created a number of immensely successful and influential shows, and was one of the most essential creative forces in British comedy embodied also by his close friends and creative partners from Beyond The Fringe (especially Peter Cook and Dudley Moore) and Monty Python (especially John Cleese, Graham Chapman and Eric Idle). It all caught up to him at age 48 when he died of a massive heart attack while filming the movie Yellowbeard. If you are in the North America, look out for US/Canadian flag icons on popular product listings for direct links.Acclaimed author Robert Ross has interviewed Marty's friends and family, including his sister Pamela, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Michael Palin and Terry Jones, and also draws from extensive, previously unpublished and often hilarious interviews with Marty himself, taped in preparation for the autobiography he never wrote. The BBC Two sketch show It’s Marty ran for just 12 episodes between 1968 and 1969, yet, without its trail-blazing, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, a year later, might have proved too much for the national sensibility. of our time, writing scripts for comedies from "The Army Game" right through to colleborating on many of the Monty Python works - most notably, the Four Yorkshiremen being his creation.

I've always been a fan of Marty's, and to read bits of his sketch writing and poetry scattered throughout an autobiography of fearless, comedy genius and scrappy bohemian bliss. Ma non tutti sanno (me compresa) che Marty era un bravissimo autore inglese prima di "emigrare" ad Hollywood. Throughout his testimony, he mocked the judge after it was implied that Feldman had no religion because he was not Christian. Completed before he died, thirty years ago, this is the autobiography of the celebrated comedian, Marty Feldman.

From January 1959 until his death in 1982, Feldman was married to Lauretta Sullivan, with whom he had two children. This is an odd book as it really does seem to be the unedited notes from Marty, as if he was preparing an autobiography.

Die hard Marty fan or know very little about him - either way, this is a pretty decent read and an entertaining book. It was a face that David Frost, one of his bosses, characterised as 'too grotesque' for television -- see what Feldman has to say about Frost, and Francis Bacon, and John Lennon. I thought this would be an interesting story but it's gotten into tedious details of his television writing career that I'm not interested in. The much-loved Marty Feldman, TV and cinema's self-proclaimed "happy fool," died at the age of 48 in 1982; forty years later, this slim, amusing autobiography was uncovered. Completed before he died, thirty years ago, this is the newly discovered autobiography of one of the most influential comedians of recent times, Marty Feldman. Although his early performing career was undistinguished, Feldman became part of a comedy act—Morris, Marty and Mitch—who made their first television appearance on the BBC series Showcase in April 1955.
