I was born in 1991 and there was a cologne that smelled exactly like this but I can’t remember the name so it’s not really “modern”. Lacks Performance, reminds me of most CK scents in that they only last a couple hours, but all tend to be safe and easy to wear. The composition closes with Indonesian Patchouli, Crystallized Musk, Powdery White Amber and Madagascar Vanilla.
Take Tommy, mix it with Eckno Green, and mix those with Realities, mix these three with the florals in Acqua di Gio, and boom, we have Modern.
The tamarind starts to peak its head after a few minutes, and becomes more noticeable in the dry down. This fruity-floral fragrance starts its story with refreshing flavors of Italian Bergamot and Nymphaea Waterlily, along with fruity scents of Blushing Golden Apple and White Peach, continuing with a feminine heart beating in rhythm of the key note - Sun Goddess Rose petals, supported with White Butterfly Cyclamen and Arabian Jasmine.

The people referring to this as smelling unisex, or slightly masculine or crisp and green probably refer to Modern Man in a square bottle. Imagine walking outside on a warm fall evening, smelling pungent juniper, sweet drying grass and a the clean scent of a cool stirring breeze. I am not familiar with that one but the female version is a true fruity-floral, which I would say is probably more fruity than floral. Nice, fresh, clean and musky scent that shouldn't offend anyone and perfect for casual wear or work.
