This should help boost gaming performance, and when you're at this tier of the CPU market, every little bit of CPU performance you can get, the better. The 3100 lags behind its slightly more expensive sibling in pretty much every test, and doesn't fare quite so well against the quad-core, eight-thread Intel Core i7 7700K we used for comparison, although the difference isn't awful here either.
