Another common aspect ratio is 3:2, which is used across much of film and digital photography. This is the aspect ratio of original 35 mm film, which is why it’s so commonly used. With the relatively simple improvement of a single-core speed boost, AMD has made the Ryzen 5 3600X the most well-realised mid-range Ryzen chip yet. It’s always been nice to have such immense multicore power, though anyone who seriously needs it would likely be better off going all the way with a Ryzen 7 instead, but this chip’s big selling point lies elsewhere. Ryzen 7 3700X steals the show here, proving that a greater number of threads, even with reduced operating frequency, are an ideal match for multi-core rendering tasks. We run the built-in benchmark using a 1080p resolution and generally Maximum quality settings (including Advanced Graphics). Change in percentage points (pp): The difference between two percentage values. If one value is 10 % and the other is 30 %, the change is 20 percentage points (20 pp).
The percentage tells you how number A relates to number B. A real-world example could be: there are two girls in a group of five children. What's the percentage of girls? In other words, we want to know what's the ratio of girls to all children. It's 2 out of 5, or 2/5. Jumping up to the twelve-core, 24-thread Ryzen 9 3900X doesn’t quite deliver double the Handbrake FPS value, but it isn’t too far away. Now I run Fallout 4 on ultra at 4k well over 60fps in even the most demanding situations, using a GTX 1080 We only see a 1 fps difference in The Division 2 and we should also note that the 3600X and 3600 match the 3700X in this title and we saw a similar thing when testing with Battlefield V and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Grand Theft Auto V remains an immensely popular game for PC gamers and as such retains its place in our test suite. The DX11-built game engine is capable of providing heavy stress to a number of system components, including the GPU, CPU, and Memory. Temperature recordings were taken using a 240mm Corsair H100X all-in-one liquid cooler with its two fans running at their 1700 RPM maximum. Ambient temperatures were around 25-28°C in the hot UK summer weather (and normalised to 25°C where there were fluctuations).

The Battlefield V results are a little disappointing, though I have to remind myself, the 3600 isn't competing with the 8700K. Its main target should be the 9600K and here it improves 1% low performance by 23%. If you’re resizing a photo to fit within a LinkedIn feed, using a pixel size of 1200 x 627 will help to make sure it’s not distorted or stretched so that it looks professional. Similar to what we saw in the R9 3900X and 3700X review, the 3rd-gen Ryzen processors slip a little in this title at 1440p and this is also true of the R5 3600. Here it's 6% slower than the 8700K, not a massive margin but normally you'd expect things to close up at 1440p.The screens all feature zippers to connect them together for complete protection from bugs. They are also fitted with top, middle and bottom ties to secure them to the corner posts, when not in use.
But as we alluded to a moment ago, even for those building a new PC from the ground up, the R5 3600 looks like the best option. It smoked the Core i5-9600K in every single application benchmark we ran and worst case matches its single core performance. You get 12 threads opposed to just 6, so it's no doubt going to age better, but this time you don't have to roll the dice on Ryzen's longevity, as it's already faster today. As we've come to expect from Ryzen, the performance in Far Cry New Dawn was not great relative to the competing Intel CPUs, overall gameplay was still smooth nonetheless. Even at 1440p the R5 3600 is still well down on the 9600K, particularly when looking at the 1% lows.
The Intel Core i5 was a little faster in a few of the games tested, but the R5 3600 was miles faster where you'll notice it. So this one's pretty cut and dry unless Intel decides to cut pricing heavily. Power draw readings are accurate to around +/-5W under heavy load due to instantaneous fluctuations in the value. We use a Titanium-rated Seasonic 1000W Prime PSU (with 8-pin plus 4-pin or 8-pin plus 8-pin power connectors where possible).
