About this deal

You won’t though. You’ll want to hear this story. And I need to tell it. Because I’ve not told anyone else, not in over fifty years. And that’s a long time to nurse a horror. Eleven tales that are not all of the spine-tingling variety but are definitely Stephen King territory. Each story has a satisfying conclusion and a bit of a twist' Scotsman

Gloria where a cold-hearted killer encounters a strange young girl at a motorway service station with unexpected consequences . . . In Gloria we are reunited with a couple of characters we previously met in Tudor’s other books, The Taking of Annie Thorne and The Other People. You don’t need to know them too much, but in this story Gloria, a cold-hearted hitwoman, meets a strange girl with unusual powers at a service station. This really felt like it was setting up a future book and I honestly hope it is!I have no doubt that Lavirintos was right to send you to me. In fact, your potential is almost palpable. If you are a fan of short stories, a fan of Tudor and looking to try something new - look no further!

Many of the temple’s visitors come here on the Great Pilgrimage, but I sense this isn't your purpose. Time slips. Doomsday scenarios. Killer butterflies. C. J. Tudor’s novels are widely acclaimed for their dark, twisty suspense plots, but with A Sliver of Darkness, she pulls us even further into her dizzying imagination. Her favourite films are Ghostbusters and The Lost Boys. Her favourite authors are Stephen King, Michael Marshall and Harlan Coben.

The Assassin Specter still lingers. It's fiendishly strong and bested me easily. I can feel it approaching again, its hateful whispers growing ever louder. One of the interesting things about this book was the introduction and the personal notes preceding each of the stories. I found it fascinating how some odd incident ignited the creative spark. You will find all my notes, all my findings in a box in the cave over there. Please, fly there as soon as you can.

In Dust we are welcomed to the Villa de las Almas Perdidas in Gran Canaria where the Calima wind blows through every crevice. Why is Olivia here? Why indeed! Another very clever concept. A secret legion under the command of Lady Ariel, with you at its head as Brigade General? These are strange tidings indeed. Stranger still is this traitor. We must find where his allegiance lies before others are harmed.

The problem with darkness was, once you let it in, it lurked in the corners of your mind, filling them with shadows.” There is no alternative, Commander. You must fight the Specter, use your Stigma abilities, and defeat it. Only then will you guarantee your release from this earthly prison.
