The whole seat tilt issue is one of cost. But there’s a more fundamental design niggle in the Anda Seat Dark Demon too. Changing the height of the chair requires you to use the lever located underneath the right side of the chair. The base, meanwhile, is made from iron, but this chair was extremely quiet when I rolled it across my hardwood floors and extremely easy to roll and swivel. The wheels have noise-canceling technology. They are covered with polyurethane rubber, which silences movements and lends to the smoothness and stability of the chair on any surface. It takes minimal effort to roll or swivel the Jungle. Contrary to common belief, foam density doesn’t always equate to firmness. High-density foams can be soft, while low-density ones can be stiff. A super-sized Kaiser 3 with the same features as the regular edition. It supports sizes 5’11” to 6’11” with a 396-pound weight capacity. You can tell Anda Seat has previously manufactured race car seats for the likes of BMW and Mercedes Benz as the Dark Demon has a similar form factor compared to many racing-style chairs. However, the gas lift is a little weak, meaning you need to take your entire weight off the seat before it will rise. Such gas lifts can lose their power over time too (we’re talking years here), and this isn't a great starting point. The seat’s frame is made from durable steel and coated head to toe in high-density foam that is firm yet springy. The Jungle 2 also comes with lumbar and head pillows that can be adjusted to provide support for as long as you require. AndaSeat has been designing and developing gaming chairs since 2007 so even this more budget-friendly option benefits from the company’s years of experience creating comfortable, ergonomic chairs.In over a year of use, I’ve only found two quibbles with this chair. First, people shorter than 5’9″ may find the seat too deep for their legs. The Kaiser 3 is an interesting alternative to the Titan for casual users without strict posture demands. In terms of the out of box experience, the Jungle 2 is fairly easy to put together. For some reason, the instructions for the footrest were separate. So instead of taking 25 to 30 minutes to put together the chair it takes about 40. That part is awkward to set up, just like actually using the footrest. In a real test of durability, the Dark Demon came out on top as the steel frame refused to be dented or phased by my attempts to harm it. Anda Seat says this chair is designed for people up to 6 feet 5.6 inches tall (200cm), but you need to be well under six foot to fully appreciate the Dark Demon. Attach the lumbar support and the usable seat pan depth is significantly reduced. It makes taller people feel as if they’re perched towards the seat's edge.
I did need some muscle to help me assemble the Jungle chair because the parts are a bit heavy. It is fairly easy to assemble though, taking me just a little over 20 minutes. AndaSeat gives you two Allen wrenches, a 3.5mm and a 5mm for setup. AndaSeat says the Jungle can support gamers up to 6’5” and 265 pounds. However, the recommended height and weight are 5’0” - 6’0” and less than 211 pounds.
A stylish yet affordable seat
As a reference, the above shot shows a 6’5″ (195 cm) user in a (discontinued) Anda Seat T-Pro II Big & Tall chair.
