In Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins, a direct-to-video film that serves as a pilot to the series, Mira is introduced as a rookie space ranger. Buzz is called by Commander Nebula to observe her doing very well in a training session at Star Command, showing herself to be highly skilled, and so she is assigned to Buzz Lightyear as his new partner. During his time working alongside Buzz as a double agent, Warp was shown to be very proactive, preferring immediate, drastic action while dismissing the menial tasks like doing mission logs (he considered it as a waste of time, and not worth reading by others).

However, when she reads minds, it renders people unconscious. The first and last time she ever "mind-controlled" someone was when she made a Valkyran guard leave her and Buzz alone and prevent her from sounding an alarm.
