About this deal

Could you record a trailer for this book? Here are some examples that you could use for inspiration: Stonkingly good . . . A compelling adventure and a nuanced celebration of friendship and family love' The Guardian At a time when death has become an acceptable, even voguish subject in children's fiction, Natalie Babbitt comes through with a stylistic gem about living forever. This awesome arachnid is the largest species of spider found in the UK – its legspan can be over 12cm! But don’t let it frighten you. The super spider, found in homes around southern England, is an amazing natural pest controller, chomping on loads of insects each year. Yay! I could probably talk a bit longer about the book, but I think I mentioned all the important bits! I would recommend this book to all looking for a fun monster and garbage-filled book!

The Creakers follows Lucy, a young girl who wakes up to find her mum is missing. But it’s not just her mum – it’s every adult in the whole town! At first, the children in the town love it. No grown ups! No chores, or tellings off, and they can say whatever naughty words they like! Do you ever hear strange, creaking noises at night? Ever wonder what makes those noises? Lucy Dungston always did. Lucy’s dad said that “Sometimes people who are different get laughed at, but it’s always the different ones who make a difference.” What does it mean to be different? How are you similar / different to others? How should we treat people who are different from ourselves? How can you make a difference? Make up a glossary of the unusual words that the Creakers use (e.g. Woleb, kidderling, dozy dust, noggin). urn:oclc:record:1391406328 Foldoutcount 0 Identifier creakers0000flet Identifier-ark ark:/13960/t2h80gt9n Invoice 1652 Isbn 9780141388779

About Tom Fletcher

Norman Quirk collected achievement badges on his Scout uniform. Could you design some new badges for him?

Maar die glinsteringen draaien niet alleen door in de kaft. Eenmaal je in het boek zit, snap je wel waar dat stof voor dient, maar haast je zodat jij er niet door beneveld geraakt. Just like The Christmasaurus, this novel is a fun and entertaining children's novel that is sure to make many kids all over the world peek under their beds in search for the Creakers themselves. Lucy reminds me a lot of myself when I was that age, although I do believe she's a tad bit braver than me, and the side characters that also show up are equally entertaining. I did laugh out loud when two kids named Buzz and Buddy had taken their dad's car out for a drive (if you didn't know, Buzz and Buddy are Tom Fletcher's kids... and now you know what he suspects they would do if him and his wife ever disappeared) - and you'll also, briefly, meet the kids from The Christmasaurus, so the stories seem to be set in the same universe. Sort of. Last Christmas, I read Tom Fletcher’s first novel, The Christmasaurus. I absolutely fell in love with it and I can’t wait until December comes around so I can read it again! I think I’ll make it a Christmas staple, like an advent calendar or The Polar Express. Anyway, I digress. The fact that I loved The Christmasaurus so much meant that I had such high expectations for The Creakers. I wasn’t left disappointed!Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Creakers: The Musical Edition, by Tom Fletcher. This new edition is read by Tom Fletcher and Samantha Bond with original songs by Tom Fletcher. The music is performed by Tom Fletcher and Carrie Hope Fletcher and Chapter 13.

Can you proofread the Creaker’s letter to the children? What mistakes did they make? Could you write a new letter from the Creakers? Lucy’s dad says that crying is when all the sad stuff inside your mind builds up so much that it starts to leak out of your eyes. Can you think of a time when you have felt like crying?Ella? I just disliked her. I wouldn't have minded if she had been taken by the monsters and never was returned. Bleh. Write a set of instructions to help the children manage their household jobs without their parents. If you enjoyed this resource, we think you'll also love our 'The Creakers' Sleepover Activity Kit here! What is ‘The Creakers’ about? A magical, mischievous adventure into an incredible new world, from Tom Fletcher, number-one-bestselling author of The Danger Gang and The Christmasaurus.

Het meest heb ik gelachen om de naam Irry Tandstra, kom er zelf maar achter of ze ook irritant is 😉Lucy is responsible and all of the children look to her for support when the grown-ups disappear. What does it mean to be responsible? What are you responsible for? How do our responsibilities change as we get older? I have to say that I am kind of agreeing with The Creakers. Yes, they did things the wrong way and they were creepy/scary, but they had their reasons. If only that had found another way to communicate and let the humans know about that. If you (or your children) love a book full of funny silliness, magical worlds, and (not-so-scary) monsters under your bed, then you’ll love The Creakers. It’s perfect for a Halloween read, or also great for any time of the year if you’re in the mood for something spooky!
