About this deal

The left earcup features the microphone and charging port, but it also has a slide switch that serves multiple purposes, while the right earcup comes with a large volume wheel, smart button, and a smaller chat mix wheel. I particularly like that you can choose between the default setting for voice recordings or opt for “warm” or “clear”; I’m a big fan of the warm version, which gives your voice a homely Radio 2 timbre. When you don’t need the mic, simply flip out of the way. As for Side Tone, this is a welcome feature for when you’re in more quiet environments since, as we’ve said, the passive sound isolation on this device is excellent, and not being able to hear yourself properly when you speak can get kind of jarring.

It’s just a shame that the same cannot be said about its signal range. The headset works brilliantly when you’re sitting in front of your computer and gaming away. Although the GSP 370s make it somewhat hard to truly, truly go for the more expensive 670, if you're after supreme Sennheiser quality, then this is the headset for you. Its performance across games of any stripe, as well as media, is supreme. In any game, it doesn't matter what's going on or what the scenario or surroundings are, the GSP 670s will give you world-beating audio clarity, depth, breadth, and detail. The GSP 670 also comes with an advanced, solid metal hinge system, adapting the headset to any head shape and guaranteeing a perfect fit.The wireless connection always takes priority, and it’s the only mode that allows you to use the other features, which we’ll mention in a little bit. Being a Sennheiser product means that you shouldn’t expect any flashy accessories to persuade you to buy it. Out of the box, you just get the headset, the USB dongle, and the charging cable – which speakers volumes about the level of confidence Sennheiser has in this product.

This is an exceptionally light model for the spec - just 322g. As such, it’s not carrying the timber most high-end headsets do. You’ll find no needless brushed steel accents here. Just lightweight plastics and soft cloth cushions around an aluminium band. Neat features like the detachable mic and its swappable magnetised cover do impress, and this is good wireless headset money. This last feature is one we don’t see very often in gaming headsets, but it’s certainly appreciated and guaranteed to let you find the perfect zone of comfort. My final word is on battery life, with the GSP 670 lasting for 16 hours if you use the low-latency USB dongle and 20 hours on Bluetooth. Curiously, Sennheiser says it chose micro-USB to recharge the headphones rather than USB-C because it fits more securely. Perhaps, but it feels old-fashioned. The presets have every situation covered, although you’re always welcome to make your sound profiles if this is something you feel obliged to do. They come with a USB-C dongle, allowing you to plug them into your Nintendo Switch and PS5, as well as a cable that will allow you to plug the dongle into a PS4, for example. On top of that, they also support Bluetooth, so you can sync them with any device that supports it.

Should you buy the Sennheiser GSP 670?

The sound is very different too what you’ll find on most gaming headsets. This may put off some regular, non-audio conscious buyers as the most noticeable difference is how controlled the low end is. Unlike competing sets, such as the Arctis Pro which push the low end to the point it can wonder intrude on other parts of the sound, the Sennheiser GSP 670 keep it under permanent control. This gives it a far precise sound than most headsets, but can initially feel like it’s less powerful to an untrained ear. Even the stereo mode has a grand soundstage that carries an expensive sense of depth and lets you pinpoint sound with precise accuracy. It’s not a design that will appeal to everyone, but we must commend Sennheiser on accomplishing everything they aspired towards with this design principle. The headset also has a very premium feel to it. We’ve expected no less from a headset at this price, but the GSP 670 is a device that you’ll forget you’re even wearing. Features Now, where the GSP 670 makes no compromises is the microphone. This swiveling microphone offers a broadcasting level of quality. It can’t compete with wired microphones in this price range, but then again, it’s not like we were ever expecting it to.
