About this deal

Ahhh ... the almond. Well then we go to the student emergency ration and dig around a little in the student food. Now the top note is perfect. Development: ( Linear / Average / Complex): L'Homme Ideal EDP is somewhat linear; I don't really get much evolution of notes. The depth and richness are there from the start and rather than change over time, the scent simply relaxes. The incense here is not really smoky and the leather isn't of the sueded or Tuscan sort. Cherry isn't listed in the pyramid but almond often gives a similar vibe, so perhaps blended with the rose and bergamot this is where the cherry comes from. I wholeheartedly admit that I could be missing some of the evolution due to how quiet the scent gets after the 1 hour mark (see Sillage below). I have there the neighbour of my parents, whose cherry tree is placed so beautifully on the property that it is every time simply only tempting to help itself there. So let's do this. The kids from the neighborhood would be to blame anyway. They get his frustration off, not me. Admittedly, I had difficulty with the flacon at first. However, I’ve grown to love it. The geometric glass is accented by a brown edge. Meanwhile, the cap is made from heavy rubber with a knurled finish and the Guerlain initials at the top. My conclusion: An independent fragrance, which in my opinion stands out very positively from the current "mainstream fragrance assortment" and can be used for many occasions. The fact that Guerlain is currently trying to "cannibalize" the L'Homme Ideal line a bit and is launching Flanker at ever shorter intervals is something I think is a pity, but it can't be considered too "reprehensible" in today's world when companies and fragrance houses are trying to exploit all possible levels for new sales. Guerlain doesn't have to prove anything to anyone anymore, as they have already launched several iconic fragrances in the past. In times when craftsmanship still stood above profit margins and the like.

Trust me, this isn’t a scent you want to project massively anyway. Since it’s syrupy and dense, the current performance fits the profile well, and restrains it from becoming too overbearing. It Has Underrated Versatility To make life difficult for children, to let them experience the injustices of everyday life, is simply part of it. So I'm going to be a good teacher and early practice, as you know. In my opinion, the fragrance is wearable in all seasons, but in summer it is more likely to be worn on colder and rainy days, as I think that otherwise it could unfortunately drift off a bit in a too pressingly sweet direction. With an intense and hot, powdery bouquet, L’Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum is a deeply sensual blend. Comprising of a number of notes and accords from the Oriental family, it comes across as a Woody Oriental Amber thanks to birch tar and sandalwood. Head NotesIn my opinion, L'Homme Ideal EdP is the best fragrance in the range. Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk have (I think) deliberately designed a range that is quite "mainstream-heavy", but can still have its own character (for example the almond note that runs like a red thread through the fragrance range). The cherry almond lingers into the middle which is a fascinating part of the fragrance in my opinion. This is where the magic is. Getting the obvious out of the way, there's a hint of Dior Homme Intense, but that's not the comparison that really keeps my interest. What I love is the fact that Guerlain l'Homme Ideal Perfume has a sister perfume: Shalimar Perfume Initial, recently rebranded as l'Initial. There is a heavy dose of Initial's middle notes in this fragrance. And you know which fragrance Shalimar Initial is often compared to? Dior Homme Intense! However I myself see the Guerlain offerings as very unique fragrances that only have a passing similarity to Dior. Further driving interest and masculinity in this middle part is the beautiful incense note which is gently smoky but refined. I would say the incense note was lifted directly from one of Wasser's best fragrances, Tonka Imperiale, but maybe tilted just slightly more smoky here. The fragrance is a safe choice for cool to crisply cold temperatures. He keeps what the fragrance pyramid promises: almonds, tonka, vanilla with noble spices and leather and a little rose. Great and stylish. Despite a concentrated load of sweetness, it does not come across too feminine and the spice-leather-pink blend also enhances this fragrance and keeps it extremely elegant. The vanilla, almond and tonka combination comes across nicely gourmandig and has a slightly cherryy touch, which I like extremely well. Also the cinnamon-like spices fit here well into the rather winter ambience. In spite of the strong gourmand notes, it would also go well with a noble and elegant outfit. This is also a fragrance that does not develop extremely visibly. The basic DNA is always retained, but becomes softer and more cuddly after a few hours, whereby the creamy, gentle Tonka note also comes through. All in all a thoroughly pleasant crowdpleaser for cooler temperatures.

On top of that, the text overlays the Be and You, which would actually make a fitting mascot for Bespoke Unit! Guerlain has succeeded in creating a fragrance for the mainstream market, which is, however, completely independent and clearly stands out from the currently offered designer fragrance segment and can truly show niche level. I can say that I would have gladly paid more for this fragrance and would definitely not have regretted it. Did you get all of that? The middle is Shalimar Perfume Initial mixed with cherry almond and incense and it is incredible.

Overview

It doesn’t have the type of scent profile you’d expect to be versatile. I mean, it contains cherry and leather after all.

However, the birch tar is somewhat more complex and gives off an accord that is reminiscent of suede leather. Homme Idéal’s Life-Cycle, Wake & Strength Rose as heart note (exception: Much Ado About The Duke from Penhaligon's, I was just in London at the idea) Leather is a perfect match for the signature vanilla tincture which comes to the fore in this Eau de Parfum. Guerlain is one of the last perfumers to use this age-old technique. The tincture is made using an artisanal process at the Orphin factory, where vanilla pods are cut into small pieces and steeped in alcohol until they take on a beautiful warm amber hue." -Guerlain.comAs for occasions, L’Homme Idéal is an eau de parfum best suited for the evenings. The flacon and its contents pair beautifully with the orange sky of a setting sun. Meanwhile, it’s quite high end and would be suitable for either romantic or formal occasions. Worn formally, L’Homme Idéal exudes sensuality and elegance, which is a dangerous combination with a tux. According to the following criteria I have therefore selected 12 of these fragrances and will comment and compare them one by one: Also of the occasion very versatilely applicable. Can be worn well during the day, but especially during winter leisure time and evening / night events. Finally, the amber heart draws towards some sweet and mouthwatering tonka bean paired with sandalwood and birch tar. Overall, this creates a very gourmand and powdery base with a vanilla hint. The L'Homme Ideal range from Guerlain now includes 6 fragrances. Starting with the EDT, this was followed by EdP, L'Intense, Cool, Sport and Cologne. A great row that gets along justly well here. Last year I bought myself the cologne, which is a great light summer gourmand. About 2 months ago then also this EdP, which could fit well for the coming cooler months. Also the EdT is super, but from the performance this one is simply grandios and also from the smell a style-safe choice.
