Wow, just wow, this is an incredibly powerful story! I have read quite a bit of really good historical fiction based around the events of the Second World War recently, but this one blew me away! This is an excellent resource for the new specification that provides a series of visually engaging topic areas that focus well on the requirements of the new exam. The accompanying digital bundle gives the students the opportunity to further develop the independent study skills that are an essential requirement for success at A level.” Like most people I imagine, I had never heard of Hannie Schaft, otherwise known as The Girl With the Red Hair, and so immediately started googling. She sounded like such a fantastic person and I'm glad she's been used as the inspiration for this novel. I also am ashamed to say I didn't know much about the Netherlands during World War 2, so that was also interesting to read. She ultimately was caught by the Nazis and imprisoned. Although tortured, she never gave anyone up, she fought and stayed loyal to the Resistance to the end! I appreciate it when a historical author provides sources at the end of the book as it gives me something to follow up on - and believe me, I will definitely be following up on Hannie. She is an inspiration, even 70 odd years later.

Whether it is straight or curly will depend on the cross-sectional shape of hair. Round hair grows straight out of the skin. The more oval-shaped the cross-section is, the curlier the hair will be. The characters are well drawn, the plotting is fast but detailed, and there is more dialogue than descriptive passages. Underestimating you is their fatal mistake. Whispers spread like wildfire amongst enemies and friends alike. It is absolutely thrilling, gripping, and exhilarating. It's full-on, full of action and adventure, fights, danger, injury and death, but it's also full of love and compassion, bravery, friendship and love.
