About this deal

You cannot see the ring of red night vision lights on the camera. They are invisible on this model. These were clearly visible on the CasaCam I tested and my toddler was distracted by them immediately. I imagine the eerie red lights could scare some children. Not an issue with the Infant Optics. One issue that I’ve noticed with this monitor is that you cannot have it next to a laptop or game controller without it losing the signal. If I’m on my laptop or playing a game I have to make sure that the monitor is on the side that is closest to my son’s room and it’s about a foot away from either electronic and the antenna is up or it constantly loses it’s signal. This is isn’t a major issue for me since the solution is as easy as never have a laptop or game controller between the camera and the monitor. Expandable to up to four cameras allowing parents to keep an eye on more than one child in separate areas of the home at the same time. Typically, even poor sound quality is sufficient to hear your baby cry, so this isn’t a disqualification, but Samsung’s system would have ranked higher if they paid as much attention to audio quality as they did to video. Range and clarity

The 3.5″ display allows you to see only one camera at a time. There is indeed no split-screen mode. The sound will also only come from one camera at a time. That said, you can easily switch from one camera to the next and there is an auto-switch option in which the camera and sound switch room to room about every 30 seconds. The picture quality on the display itself is about average with a resolution of 320 pixels by 240 pixels. Infant Optics DXR-8 Pro has improved features and capabilities compared to Infant Optics DXD 8 regular, such as better zoom of up to 6x, longer warranty of 36 months, better connectivity range of up to 1000 ft., larger 5-inch LCD screen display, and a VOX mode feature. Infant Optics DXR’s zoom is only 4x, its warranty is only 12 months, its connectivity range is 700 ft., and has a smaller 3.5-inch VGA display. First, the two wall plug power adapters are labeled, one for the parent unit (monitor) and one for the camera, so be sure to use the correct one and push the plugs firmly into the devices. The biggest scoring point for Eufy SpaceView is that the whole room coverage. You can pan the lens 330 degrees and tilt it 110 degrees. This covers all the corners, the ceiling, and the floor. Comparing to Motorola MBP36XL, the round dial is much easier to use than square buttons.

You can also control the camera to pan and tilt from the parent unit to look at the different corners of the room if you need to see what your toddler is up to. Infant Optics uses the same closed-loop FHSS transmission to ensure that the only person who can watch your baby is the person using the parent unit. Flaws of the DXR-8 old versionAnswer: Yes. When you use the two-way communication feature, your voice only goes to the camera that is currently selected. The receiver also feels a bit sluggish when switching cameras or navigating through menus, etc. I don't know whether that's a software performance problem or just limitations of the hardware. Again--it doesn't really bother me, but is just something to be aware of.

The range you can use this monitor at is great, and it was the most immune to interference or drop-outs. The screen is also the biggest, which makes it easy to see what’s going on in night vision mode. Combined with full pan/tilt control, this is a solid video setup on paper. Vava baby monitor is also one of the highest-rated baby monitors in the market. It is in the same class of non-wifi monitors as the Infant Optics DXR 8 Pro. With this monitor, you can listen and talk to your baby in their room, but you will be even more impressed by the picture quality. So, highly recommmend from A to Z. Don’t think you can go wrong with this! Also you can pair up to 4 cameras to the one monitor. We just move the camera around during the day, but you could install one in the nursery, on in the living room, and wherever else you like - and switch between them all with one monitor.

A Throwback Design

The camera itself is compact and looks a little bit wobbly; we were surprised at how well it worked in testing, though. It seems clear that the limitations on resolution come from the small screen, and the low-light performance is great. The touchscreen controls are also disappointing. It looks nice, and in 2018 maybe a new generation of parents find the icon-based on-screen menu more intuitive than our testers, but we mostly preferred the direction-pad-and-buttons interfaces on the Infant Optics parent unit. VTech – DM111 FHSS technology is highly secure and was originally developed in 1940 for secret military communication and to prevent radio signal jamming and has continued being used over the decades in various industries, including baby monitors.

Now that most of us use Wi-Fi everywhere in our houses for everything from looking at cat pictures to streaming music, Wi-Fi transmission is practically free. Using Wi-Fi also means that you can see your monitor feed from work or your phone — even while you’re traveling. The internet is really the only way to get that kind of amazing flexibility. We are tempted to recommend the LeFun Fi368 camera to more people, but there’s basically one thing stopping us: Wi-Fi itself. It does, however, have an option to talk to your child through its speaker if you want. The two-way talk function can easily be accessed by pressing and holding the microphone button on the parent monitor. The sound only goes to the camera that is currently selected, so don’t risk waking up your child in the other room. The DXR-8 cameras also have temperature sensors included, which is nice so you can ensure your children aren't freezing during the winter. You can view the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit, but switching between them is another one of those special shortcuts you'll need to know. (IIRC, you hold the "OK" button to switch temperature units.)Impressive zoom capabilities The monitor has a 2x optical zoom lens, which is great if you are monitoring across a big room. Plus, the digital zoom goes up to 3x, and with this, you can achieve up to 6x magnification. Eufy Spaceview baby monitor is also one of the best non-wifi monitors in the market. It is easy to use, has a decent range, a good battery life, and has an exceptionally highly adjustable camera capability. Even the previous version of the DXR-8 was great. No doubt it has been rated 5-star by more than 10 000 customers . Display size: With a video monitor, there’s a big difference between watching a blurry lump and being able to clearly see your baby. The one surprising omission from this system is a wake-on-sound feature. There’s a feeding timer that can wake you every four or six hours, and an option to make the system warnings (low battery, lost connection) quieter, but no auto-wake. The screen can automatically turn off (to save the battery) after three or five minutes while the sound is still on for you to listen for anything happening, but you’re relying on the sound of your baby to get your attention.
