Join us as we take a walk around the garden and visit the historic relics in preparation for capturing them in our art. You will have time to reflect and focus on drawing or painting the area of your choice. Please bring a portable chair, sketch pad, easel, paints, pens, pencils or pastels, and other art supplies as they are not included. We’ll provide the location and inspiration! Did you know that Bommer Canyon’s Cattle Camp once served as the center of the Irvine Company’s cattle operations? Cattle were branded and disinfected here in the late 1800s and some of the equipment and infrastructure used remains today. This recently renovated and reopened area of Bommer Canyon includes a small nature garden that is maintained and stewarded by Conservancy volunteers. It has been planted with native flora and interpretive signs have been installed that tell the story of the history of the relics and the historic Irvine Ranch.
