About this deal

One of the top features that was mentioned time and time again with this product was the volume control. This may sound strange is one of the top features of the digital piano but if you’re looking for something that gives you full control over the sound then this would be a fantastic choice. The Alesis Recital 88 key digital piano was very surprising when it came to the sound of the piano voice. Sure, like all digital pianos there are other voices to try out – like the electric piano, organ, strings etc. However, I am always interested in how it performs when it comes to its core sound – the piano.

The LX88 is a good looking piece of kit, with its nice flat, smooth finish, and colored drum pads and knobs. It’s actually more attractive than most other digital keyboards on this list, and certainly fits with the aesthetic of electronic music that you might want to make with it. As you can see above you get a wide range of features and you will get a keyboard that has a full size, even gives you semi-weighted and velocity sensitive keys that closely replicate the feel of a real piano. So even though it is not strictly accurate it will give you a fantastic piano to begin on. You can also split the piano in two, and have a bass in the left part and the acoustic in the right part. So if you fancy playing some blues or swing, you can create a nice live duet sound at the touch of a button. Finally, there are the built-in speakers. These can make quite a large difference to the quality of the sound that’s produced if you’re not using headphones. The better the speakers, the clearer the sound will be, and the better it will be able to reproduce the feel of a real piano. You’ll be able to feel deeper low notes and crisper highs. Note that many MIDI keyboards don’t have speakers built in; they’re designed to be used with other hardware. However, the higher-end MIDI controllers do sometimes. Quality Powerful educational features - Standard, split, layer, and lesson modes with 128-note max polyphony and Skoove 3 month premium subscription for expert interactive online piano lessonsAll Yamaha products are made well, and the DGX-660 is no different. Everything feels high-quality, with nice key and button feel along with hardy construction. Ideal if the keyboard will be travelling. This isn’t a cheap option, but it’s not hugely expensive either. It’s also available as a superb bundle which really helps the value factor. If your budget stretches this far, then you should certainly take a look. Using what they call harmonic imaging technology, the samples that Kawai use are an extremely faithful representation of how their grand pianos sound, delivering a rich, vibrant and warm tone. Product 2: Heavy-duty electric piano stand double-x frame construction ensures extra stability for heavy and light digital electronic keyboards

The Recital 88-Key digital piano boasts of a host of education features that are focused on beginners. Features such as split, layer, standard, and lesson modes, along with a 3-month Skoove subscription, makes it a great choice for beginners. Pros & Cons ProsThis piano keyboard with weighted keys includes a USB input so you can play along to your favourite songs. Inputs on these 88 key weighted keyboards include ¼ Inch (6.35 mm) sustain pedal input (pedal not included), ¼ Inch (6.35 mm) soft-pedal input (pedal not included), 7 pin sostenuto pedal input (pedal not included), and ¼ Inch (6.35 mm) microphone connector (microphone not included.) The speakers are of a very high standard on this Casio Privia, but what stands out is the quality of the samples, and the digital keyboard’s ability to split and layer sounds to create a very full and authentic tone. It’s high end stuff, and we’re very impressed.

The Alesis Melody 61 MKII offers a versatile design and a stylish appearance. But, more importantly, the MKII is a well thought out unit with a lightweight and portable footprint making it easier to carry and store away. The MKII also comes with add on features, which makes it a great choice for all those who are looking for an affordable beginner digital piano that comes with all the bells and whistles of a big name brand. 300 Auto Accompaniment Rhythms This is a no-frills keyboard with no-frills design, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s a clean look, though the switches and sliders, which are located on the left of the board, do look a little cheap in comparison with some of the other keyboards we’ve reviewed. This is going to be one of the most important considerations to make because it’s the factor that really differentiates most keyboards from one another. The speakers on this Korg are absolutely fantastic and are possibly the best of all the keyboards we’ve reviewed. MFB servo technology and a passive radiator mean that the B1SP does a fantastic job of reproducing the deep, full and crisp sounds of an authentic grand piano. Beginners are going to want a few specific things from their keyboard. Overly complex functions and options can be confusing, but there are some features that are designed to help people learn. These functions include things like play-along songs, light-up keys, and split boards to share with a teacher. Lesson modes are fairly common, even on lower end keyboards, so you should have no trouble finding something suitable. Conclusion Build quality is very good indeed - you shouldn’t have any concerns about finding uneven key heights or unwanted noises out of the box. If you’re looking for a portable keyboard, the Artesia PE-88 hits the mark in terms of portability and professionality.
