About this deal

Sixty-three women enrolled. On multivariable analysis, immediate belted ASLR score was -2.70 points lower than the non-belted ASLR score (P < .001). Four weeks later there was significant improvement in the ASLR score with a belt (M diff = -0.99; P = .001) and without a belt (M diff = -1.94; P < .001); the decline was more precipitous for the non-belted response (M diff = -0.96; P = .02). Current NRS pain scores declined from baseline by approximately -0.94 points (P < .001). This decline did not depend on ASLR scores (interaction P = .43) or wearing a belt at the time of testing (interaction P = .51). Similar conclusions held for participants' usual NRS score and average PGQ score. After 4 weeks, 82% reported improvement based on the PGII. The Serola Belt increases strength throughout the body, especially the trunk, upper legs, and arms.

I'm using [a Lola & Lykke] pregnancy support belt and it helps a lot."(Brand of maternity belt recommended by Mumsnet user Mishmased) Our verdict So I'm using the Nexcare Elastic Pregnancy Belly/Bump Support”. (Tried and tested by Mumsnet user londonloves) After childbirth 147 patients used a pelvic belt. Of these patients, 10% reported more pain, 23% no effect, & 67% a positive effect.” J.M.A. Mens, et al 1992 “To remain stable, the SIJ utilizes a self-bracing mechanism consisting of the ligaments and muscles, as described by Vleeming, et al. This biomechanical model endorses the benefit of a sacroiliac belt for treatment of peripartum pain.” Snijders CJ 1992 Pelvic girdle pain (PGP) is the most common musculoskeletal concern in pregnancy. The Active Straight Leg Raise (ASLR) test is diagnostic. Sacroiliac joint (SIJ) belts are included in multimodal therapy, but there is no established predictive measure to determine which pregnant women will benefit.

Overview

I’ve written an excellent post called “can I exercise during pregnancy” for all the details on how to exercise safely during this time. Trying to achieve a “healthy” body weight according to BMI However, unlike some maternity belts, this one cannot be machine washed, instead you need to hand wash it in cold water and leave it to air dry. And drying may take up to 12 hours, so make sure you wash it when you know you won’t be needing to wear it again for a while. It has two layers which are easy to put on and wrap close to your body, offering just the right amount of compression without restricting blood flow. What’s more, it can be worn postpartum to offer extra stability after your little bundle of joy has arrived. Wear theSerola Sacroiliac SPD Belt just below the pointy, bony protrusions at the front of your hips. There is a natural indentation where the belt goes.

The Serola belt is the only belt on the market with a patented design to help reinforce the action of your pelvic ligaments. The key is normalization, rather than simply stabilization. By normalizing the mechanics of the joint, we normalize it’s physiology, including muscle strength, proprioception, and fluid exchange dynamics. Normal function allows proper healing.

Additional stress on the joints from falls, accidents, poor posture, sitting too long, or activities that include bending, lifting, and twisting can increase the muscular response and pain. To determine if the ASLR score is immediately reduced by SIJ belt application and whether PGP pain and function improves after 4 weeks of belt use.Increases core strength and mobility by taking the place of ligaments that become looser during pregnancy.
