About this deal

Hey!” Kenji shouts. “I am not here for this abusive relationship, okay?” He points at Warner. “I did not sign up for this shit!”

The second book drags. The characters seem much more focused on challenges in their love life than the war (though at least they are self aware of this fact). And the books feels whiny at times. The poor characterization in book 2 does allow for better plot and character development later through the series. The short answer is Yes! You can skip the novellas. They aren’t necessary at all to understand the main story. I haven’t gotten a single clue how I will ever be able to move on from this series, from this story, from these characters. Ignite Me: Best book of the Series so far. Get Yourself a Kenji. Warner MVP! Adam.. we're cool, you should date Alia. Lots of Goosebump moments.

Creative Play

But nothing learned within the novellas is crucial to the plot of the main series. They’ll only provide extra details that make the novels more impactful. Since finishing this series I have found myself comparing any book I have read or am reading to it. Never has a writer made me fall so in love with characters and made me feel like whatever happened to them was happening to me. Her characters will steal your heart and soul. Juliette will make you feel empowered and brave. Adam will make you remember what love feels like. Warner will show you everything you secretly want and OH BOY WILL YOU WANT IT, and Kenji will be the friend you've always wanted. You might be asking yourself, why should I embark on this literary journey? Here are a few compelling reasons why the Shatter Me series should be your next reading adventure:

Ignite Me is my fave from the series. That LYHFML from Aaron 😶‍🌫️ is so wild I almost screamed while reading it (I only screamed internally). That book is a chef's kiss. 😗🤌❣️Believe Me is the novella that I love (should I even explain it?). It made me smile the whole time of reading that novella to the point that my lips almost ripped out of my face. 🫠 The war? What? J, are you not paying attention? Your boyfriend is having a freaking conniption right now and you need to go handle his ass before I do.”But do we excuse him for shouting at J. for wanting to bring W. Into the fold and not understanding the trauma Adam went through? Oh no how could he shout at poor defenssless J who needed the blond guy to rescue her!!!! by book 3 we get the feeling that Tahere is bored of J &W cause now she has other important thing to focus on, her POC characters You are so beautiful,” I say, unable to shed the awe in my voice. I hear it, the childish wonder in my tone, and it embarrasses me more than it should. I know I shouldn’t be ashamed to feel deeply. To be moved. And Omega Point (rebels really cool little hideout) just seems to be used as a stage for Juliette and Adams relationship (if you can even call it that) drama. I mean come on! So much potential to make me fall in love and be dying to go to Omega Point and its just tarnished by stupid arguments. This at least is pointed out by the fantastic Kenji, who straight up lets them know that they are being dumb. (Kenji is fab btw).
