About this deal

When the word "generic" is thrown at something, it's almost more insulting than calling said entity "bad". Something that's described as bad can still have that connotation of originality while generic media already has the disadvantage of being similar to other entries right out the gate. This isn't to say that that quality is an immediate reason for discouragement and original != good by default, there can be great reinventions and more. While the story doesn't seem to focus on world building, this story flows like a normal adventure with the MC heading out to accomplish their goals. When it comes to the characters (besides the very minor ones) there are understandable motives and as a result I became more interested in them and in the world. Skeleton Knight in Another World (Manga) Vol. 4". Seven Seas Entertainment . Retrieved May 27, 2021. Arc later travels to Diento and hears rumors that a band of mercenaries vanished near the base of the Calcutta Mountain Range. While doing some hunting in the forest, Arc is ambushed by a band of thieves, but he easily dispatches them. He finds the thieves based in a cave and slaughters the remaining men. Arc beings to salvage what goods he can take, and comes across a strange green fox creature in a cage. Taking pity on the creature, Arc releases it and heals its wounds inflicted upon it by the bandits. Rather than run free, the fox chooses to remain as Arc's side, to which Arc names it Ponta.

The Skeleton is a big brother-like companion to tsunderish elfgirl, while the Sword is a teacher-like for childish catgirl. The interactions between Ariane, her family, and several other characters seemed to imply that she has romantic feelings towards Arc. On the other hand, while Arc also exhibited hints of attraction towards Ariane, he is quite dense about Ariane's feelings toward him. He often receives sharp glares from her when he interacts nicely with other women. A glare from Ariane's is enough to provoke chills in Arc's spine. The elements of the story are not inherently bad, but the way that they went about presenting them are awful.

Alternative Titles

The author who managed to craft such a vibrant and colorful world didn't manage to capitalize their talent when making the rest of its cast. Outside of Arc and Ariane, is there really a character that truly felt relevant? Ponta may be listed as a main character but they literally have no personality as a non-human pet. The ninja girl Chiyome is introduced late in the show without much context about her character at all. The rest of the characters are mostly standalones that you'll see maybe once or twice and then disappear to be never heard again. Even Juliana felt like she's a disposable character despite her royal status. It appears when the author wrote the cast, they didn't put much effort into their personalities at all. Most characters in this show feels like NPCs you encounter on a side quest from a video game. Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu is the most generic power trip isekai imaginable, but this time with a twist: the main character is a skeleton! Incredible. It truly is an ingenious choice, as without being a skeleton Arc would be the least interesting character of all time. Besides for Arc's overly formal speech patterns, I struggle to come up with even a single aspect of his personality. He has no discernible motivations for anything he does, and neither does he seem to care about much of anything. After Because of Arc's full body armor, people who meet him for the first time always mistake him for a knight.

Ending? Possibly the best one this season. If you think otherwise, you're an idiot. Your response will then be "who said I was an idiot" and then I be like "yeah, the ending for Skeleton Knight is pretty good, I also agree". AS A RESULT, the MC doesn't actually feel relatable in a sense that he is a person who just got transported to a new world. Even if he was not originally from earth, the MC just feels like a abnormal character who is still a native to that world. It feels like this is a Isekai which did not need to be an Isekai. And we can't forget about Arianne, when i saw a cute anime girl,i gotta give her a credit too for adding more reason to watch the anime. Now i wanna point out that i don't say this anime is a rip-off or plagiary of Overlord, despite the two actually shared some similarities like the "trapped in the videogame" theme and the fact that both of the MC is an OP skeletal creatures. Both also have a R-17 rating even though it looks tame and lighthearted at first glance. As Arc, Ariane and Chiyome's quest progresses and they gain friends and allies while traveling to different kingdoms across the world, they learn that the slave trade is merely the tip of the iceberg and that the Holy East Revlon Kingdom, ruled by the ruthless Emperor Domitianus, and this world's main religion, the Holy Hilk Kingdom, may be behind all the evil they're fighting to overcome. Ariane, on the other hand, is another tsundere who fails to be logical since she's so focused on saving her kind, that any sort of negotiation would fail to go in her head. She's forgettable since she has almost no depth other than your usual girl who is strong in her moments but occasionally requires the hero's help just so that the main relationship can sail smoothly as the story went on. A Japanese gamer who, after falling asleep playing an online game, finds himself trapped in his game avatar, seemingly transported to a different world. Plot, Doesn't follow the manga so far, characters are introduced in different ways compared to the source material, which in some cases can be fine, but when they are really big part of the plot... then no, it doesn't feel good. The main issue is poorly done characters and poorly done main character who does not exactly act in reasonable way and instead is infuriating. are going to see this series as a mediocre series that does not innovate at all and is not very entertaining, as it is in my case, I could make this review simpler by saying that it is just a mediocre series of the bunch and that's how it is, I would recommend it... maybe, but only if you haven't seen series of the genre, but don't waste your time, there are many better and more interesting options. the following is a brief paragraph or two on my overall thoughts, followed by spoilers about boring world building, the lead MC, and the creepy factor. reader discretion is advised. --
