The film was released in UK cinemas on April 1, 2022. Therefore, its streaming release is just 75 days after its theatrical release – which is not as early as some, but still not as long a wait as past films. On April 7, 2022, it was announced that "Up on the Green Hill from Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone - Masado and Miwasco Version -" by Dreams Come True would be used as the main theme song for the film's release in Japan.
