About this deal

A neat aspect that stood out in particular was the setting. Its vibe is something from the late ’60s to early ’70s; the world feels something akin to Europe and Russia during the Cold War. It’s all dripping in personality, having this undercurrent of paranoia and distrust where even not getting together with someone at a certain age seems suspicious. There’s a hard bent towards nationalism and elitism. Countries feel like they are on the brink of war and are looking for any edge over the other. It lends itself perfectly to this series, adding a lot to the characters and the kind of history they had to or still deal with. Spy x Family has been on my radar for a long time. I heard about it from a friend and then really wanted to read it! Word of mouth is great for marketing, eh? At City Hall, in the capital city of Berlint, Yor is different from the other women she works with. Quiet, and somewhat naïve, she is the object of constant criticism in the guise of helpful hints, such as improving her appearance so she can find a man. Her brother Yuri worries about her, and calls her often. To relieve his mind, she tells him she has a boyfriend and is going to a party that weekend. What no one knows is that Yor is actually an assassin, and a darn good one! But how is she going to find a “boyfriend” to take to a party on such short notice?

Spy X Family has become a recent big hit over in Shonen Jump, bringing with it a unique flavor to the long-running manga magazine. It just recently got released in volume form in America, so let’s dive in. The Lowdown The story-line is engaging and entertaining with great illustrations. I am looking forward to the next volume.I love this premise! The plot is super fun and fast paced, the illustrations are great and the characters are barrels of fun! There's enough of a mystery behind this story to make this series super intriguing... but also the fake family and intriguing characters (spy, assassin and telepath... not your typical trio). The art style- I didn't expect this, but I'm obsessed with this art style!! 😍😍 I love the attention to detail and just the way it is drawn just works really well for me. Super excited to see more of it in the next volumes! 🙌 The housemaster in chapter 3 describes PERFECTLY how I feel about Spy x Family. It's elegant. From the story, to the characters, all the way down to the detail of each chapter being a "mission." And honestly, every chapter really does feel like a mission. I feel like we're accomplishing something everything chapter while moving the story forward as well. No chapter is a filler chapter. It has a clear goal on getting from point A to point B. And how it gets there will have you dead from laughter. Spy x Family basically follows Twilight, a spy who needs to get a fake wife and child for a mission. Anya and Yor begin to pose as his family- but what Twilight doesn't know is that Anya (the child) is a telepath and Yor (the wife) is an assassin!

master spy. Unparalleled when it comes to stealth and extremely dangerous missions He is very smart,as he is just focused on his mission But when he starts to start a family, troubles and adventures begin. Speaking of which, acting as his wife is Yor, a quiet woman who had to raise her younger brother on her own for most of their lives after their parents passed away. She is very distant, detached from a lot of the world due to being an assassin and avoiding attachments. She is just as professional as Twilight, but parts of that bleed over into her regular life that she’s not quite capable of controlling, like her bloodlust or interest in blades. She makes for an enjoyable character, though her growth is more subtle as she begins to open up to others. This book is absolutely marvellous, and all the fun of a VIZ book! It's thrilling and yet fun, all at the same time. It felt like the fun that Man from U.N.C.L.E. gave me when that film came out. I found the art to be detailed and intricate, but not so much that it was overwhelming. It made the fight scenes and emotional moments that much better, which is exactly what you want from graphic novels! The art is just as much a part of the story as anything you're reading, and Tatsuya Endo deftly weaves the two together to create an excellent story that is elevated by the lovely and fascinating visuals, and smooth writing. Not one to depend on others, Twilight has his work cut out for him procuring both a wife and a child for his mission to infiltrate an elite private school. What he doesn’t know is that the wife he’s chosen is an assassin and the child he’s adopted is a telepath! The Breakdown I read my first manga (The Promised Neverland) a couple months ago and really liked it, so I obviously wanted to try some more. This one seemed like an obvious choice, as its so popular. And now that I've read it, I definitely understand the hype ✨

Three people are on a collision course with destiny! Each one has needs—Twilight a wife, Yor a boyfriend, and Anya a family. When chance—or is that Fate?—brings them together, they decide to form a family. Will they be able to fulfill Twilight’s mission and gain Anya admission into Eden Academy? And if they do, how long can they maintain their cover… and how long will they want to? I don't really have anything negative to say tbh. I do feel like it was a little short for me to rate it above a 4 stars tho 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️Master spy Twilight is unparalleled when it comes to going undercover on dangerous missions for the betterment of the world. But when he receives the ultimate assignment—to get married and have a kid—he may finally be in over his head! I've always wanted to read this, but the question is: why didn't I do so sooner? Not until the anime was released that I watched it and become head over heels with Twilight and Anya, just from the 20 minutes video and it's only been the first episode. The child, Anya, is a telepath and an escaped government experiment. She's here partly for the entertainment of it all (spy + assassin = fun) but mostly for the LOVE and AFFECTION that comes along with a family. Meanwhile, Yor Briar despite being an assassin is a lovely woman who dreams of romance. Twilight's first connection with her is built on deception where he claims he wants to fulfill his late wife's desires, much as she wants to deceive her brother. Yor never tells her "husband" about her assassin activities, and Twilight keeps Yor in the dark about his genuine motivation for enrolling Anya in the school.
