As you can see, the Squier Bullet Mustang is a really cool guitar which is totally worth it. The truth is that it will be difficult to find a better guitar at this price level. Out of my observations, a lot of instruments with similar pricing have a lot of flaws – whether it’s the setup requirement or something else

This means that the scale length - the distance between the bridge saddles and the nut of the guitar - is shorter than the usual Fender-style scale length of 25.5” by an inch and a half. It doesn’t seem a lot, but it makes a notable difference to the string tension, and makes the guitar feel a bit easier to play as a result. There’s also less distance between frets - something which will suit smaller players well. If you’ve got big hands you might struggle, but fear not - there’s plenty of full-scale options on the market too. As a budget guitar, the Squier Bullet Mustang must be thought of as such. The tone is good, especially great in the bridge position, but it’s not the Mustang. With some easily done modifications, the Bullet will certainly have more girth and strength, along with everything so great about its comfort and playability. If you (like me) already have a few guitars, this little Mustang costs the sort of money you'd spend on strings in a year, so go ahead and buy one, you won't regret it.
