About this deal

This means that Krys and Max both learn that success comes from being prepared to step outside their comfort zones, and be honest with themselves. Capricious weather and beautiful landscapes add zest, atmosphere and a real sense of drama to the story. The voice of the absent Auntie Linda A story of lost loves, missed opportunities and all the mishaps which happen in every day life. Good to see a strong female lead in a traditional romance. Loved it.’ Reader review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved the sound of this book and well, Phillipa Ashley can write such humoorous and warm stories and I hoped this festive offering is just like thus. Of course every story needs a person that is not likable, and this book has Brett. He is created perfectly to not like him, however he is not criminal, just selfish and clueless as to how he should treat people. It’s set in the Lake District at Christmas time, but don’t expect white snowy England. You just never know what weather to expect in this little town! And there are some really emotional scenes, I think I almost ruined my book with tears at the “Santa” scene. Honestly.

Again a few things happen and Krys helps Harriet one of the home town residents with some preparation for Christmas. Ashley sets this novel in a Staffordshire village near by the Lakes, it is set in December as she is here in time to save Christmas and the fact it describes the large open fire in 'Holly Manor' several times. Meaning it was cold outside. A lovely, glittery Christmas story … A gem to read, this book is both festive and heart-warming … So enjoyable to read and extremely hard to put down NetGalley review⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pour yourself a mug of hot chocolate and settle down in front of the fire with this perfect, uplifting festive listen! As Krys is known as Mrs Christmas she is in her element but as Brett is once again called away for work will her Christmas be ruined or could this be the start of a new life?I absolutely loved The Christmas Holiday. It's a heartwarming and emotional tale that's easy-to-read and will get you into the festive spirit. 🎄❄️✨️

Fantastic read set in the Lake District. Expertly written with the usual Phillipa Ashley twists. A great festive read.’ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hoping to reconnect with her boyfriend Brett, the pair set off on their festive retreat. However, Brett soon runs them into danger when he drives the wrong way. The Christmas Holiday is another fabulous and thoroughly enjoyable festive read from Philippa Ashley and if that stunning cover doesn’t draw you in, then the story that awaits you between the covers most certainly will. Often books that claim to be Christmas reads have the merest mentions of allusions to the time of year that we all look forward to but in this wonderful read Christmas is mentioned in abundance and it couldn’t fail to be seen as our main protagonist Krystle is a seasonal buyer and she thinks about Christmas from the first of January right up until the big day itself. This is a story that will give you all the Christmas feels and get you excited for the preparations leading up to the big day but there is also a more human and emotional side as well as we learn more about Krystle, what motivates her and how her life has led her to the point at which we meet her. There was a fabulous balance between warmth, humour and at times there was a more serious side but it all weaved together so wonderfully as Krystle tries to show Max that Christmas is the most wonderful time of year and at the same time learns an awful lot about herself. This is a perfect Christmas book . Loved it . Set in a beautiful part of the country… A great read . Loved the twists and it had the ending you wanted. Brilliant ’ NetGalley review⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a brilliantly written description book which I couldn't put down once I started I read this in one sitting. With her festive business booming, she decides to celebrate by renting a secluded house in the Lakes, with a plan to make this the ultimate yuletide getaway. If you make a bad decision, and a tragedy happens (that is not your fault, but you accept fault nonetheless) should you live the rest of your life in repentance? This book has a character in that position. Max is a character that became a real person to me, and I care about him so much. I felt his guilt, pain and struggle. His dog Jake, is Max’s saving grace. As it is true in life, Max did not recuse Jake. Jake definitely is the rescuer. With her thriving business Cottage Angels, Freya Bolton prepares the Lake District’s holiday homes for Christmas visitors. It’s her job to think of everything, from cinnamon-scented candles to tasteful decorations and hampers of seasonal treats. This theme of self-discovery adds such a warmth and depth to The Christmas Holiday that it makes the story brilliantly suited to the festive season. Both characters find joy and happiness in being part of a community and in helping others in ways readers can identify with and emulate.
