About this deal

i honestly wish i hated nash so that i can shit on him and have fun doing it. but i cant because i dont hate him, i dont care about him. he’s just so dull. boring. vanilla. no wait scratch that, vanilla has too much flavour. plain yogurt. thats what he is. Anmelden Nash ist der jüngere Bruder von Knox, dem Protagonisten des ersten Bandes und Lina ist die Ex-Freundin von Knox aus Collegezeiten und mittlerweile eine gute Freundin von ihm.

The reason these books are so good besides the crazy good romance, are the external relationships! -The girls! Naomi, Sloane and Lina steal the show with their friendship, I laughed so hard with them and all of their many antics throughout the book. (boozy girls time, Halloween) What happened to your face?” “It ran into my fists. Repeatedly,” Knox said as he stomped past us on his way to the water fountain. Das Tempo der Liebesgeschichte hat für mich auch gestimmt. Die Chemie war zwischen Lina und Nash von Anfang an zu spüren, aber es ging mit den beiden dann doch nicht so schnell, wie ich gedacht hätte. Like I mentioned, I ended up loving Nash and Lina, and I loved them together. Nash is having a hard time recovering from his gunshot wounds, being the natural protector that he is. He wants to keep everyone safe, and he’s doubting himself because he couldn’t even keep himself safe. He wears the weight of the world on his shoulders and wants to do the right thing for everyone, but especially for his family and his community.

So this is much better than the first one, which is surprising to me since I didn’t particularly care about Lina in book one and Nash came across as boring in that book. However, this book took both characters and spun them into deeply beautiful, complicated, scared, and passionate human beings who are just looking for that one person to bring them out of the darkness and into the light (get it?! title significance?! but its true). Lina and Nash deserve the same hype that Naomi and Knox get in this series. I love them more than Naomi and Knox. They felt more real to me, like these people could exist in real life with these exact problems. And I’m not just talking about the push and pull y’all. I’m talking about what happens in chapters 35 and 36 (but let’s be honest. Chapter 36 had MY thighs quaking like Lina’s 😅. It reminded me that I need to workout 🙃🤣) Lina is his brother’s best friend and she recently came to town for reasons of her own – and she’s the only one who makes Nash feel different, feel alive again with just a simple touch.

Things We Hide from the Light is not without its flaws; it can be long and slow in some parts, and the main characters are occasionally annoying. Nevertheless, Lucy Score's writing is pure magic, with its witty banter, sharp sarcasm, and delicious slow burn. Even with its imperfections, the story remains a joy to read. This book really was the perfect ensemble. Every character was present and there were crumbs from everyone. The Sloane Nash conversation in the library was adorable and yes I cannot wait for Lucian and Sloane's book next. H had a crush on the h from book 1. She’s with his brother now. The h and the H from book 1 used to date forever ago and now are just really close friends It doesn’t help that Knox has Lina move next door to Nash. Not only does have to see her beautiful face everyday, but he also has to hear her whenever she’s moving around next door to him😬. Ich hatte keine hohen Erwartungen an "Things We Hide From the Light" von Lucy Score, da mich hier der Klappentext im Vergleich zu den anderen Bänden am wenigsten angesprochen hat.I love crime shows and crime novels so the plot of this book had me entertained. We all love a good flash in the pan spicy romance novel but that's not what this is. This book will definitely not be for everyone but personally I liked it lowkey more than Knox. Police Chief Nash Morgan is known for two things: being a good guy and the way his uniform accentuates his rear end. the side characters. Um. Yes please ❤️. Not only do we see Naomi and Knox, but we see other characters as well (like Sloane and Lucian). Waylay and Waylon were adorable, as well as Lina’s parents I slapped a hand to his sweaty chest and gave a shove. He didn’t budge. Not even an inch. But his hand clamped over my wrist and then he was yanking me into him. He was a wall of heat and muscle and anger. My own fury melded with his and everything went molten inside me. “I hate how much I still want to be near you.” His voice was a low, angry rasp, like the bite of gravel on bare feet.

Everything about Things We Hide From The Light was delightful, but I will say proceed with caution especially if you’re sensitive to topics including heart conditions, an alcoholic parent, and gun violence. Aside from that, you can expect a cute dog, tons of cute and fun moments between Lina and Nash, and easily one of my favorite fictional friend groups. I’m so excited to see that we are getting a Lucian and Sloane book next! I’ve been hoping we would get their story and enemies to lovers is my jam. It comes out later this year so no long wait! Yay! Also, I got to meet Lucy Score at my local book store (Joseph Beth-Cincinnati) which was amazing so here’s a fun picture :)the bromance. Nash, Knox, and Lucian have already had this bromance going on for years, and now, we can add Nolan to the mix. I enjoyed the humor their interactions brought... and, well, the testosterone and fighting too 🤷🏻‍♀️ I recommend this book for its amazing writing and story but it’s a definitely must-read for fans of small-town romance, romance books with mental illness themes and wounded heroes. You make me feel things. And after going long enough without feeling anything, feeling something--even if its anger or adrenaline--is better than the nothing." Nash says this, but it honestly could apply to both Nash and Lina. And Nash, a man in uniform will make any of us swoon, throw in his determination to convince Lina that they were perfect for each other had me eating out of his hand.
