While neither of the Theta cameras are particularly designed with shooting video in mind, there is a clear difference between them. The Theta Z1, even with the larger sensors, is unable to match the quality of its video with its photos. Limited to 4K, the resolution of the Z1 video is disappointing and there’s little in the way of stabilization or shooting modes. I wouldn’t recommend using this camera for any serious video work. The Z1 was able to eliminate almost all the movement and keep the horizon fairly level. However, the footage still looked a bit wobbly. Similar videos shot with the GoPro Max and the Insta360 One X were much stabler. However, as with any other camera, megapixels aren't everything. The larger size of the Z1's sensors mean it can capture better images, which was most evident in low-light situations. Checking and Changing the Shooting Conditions

So it is exactly the same problem I have with their V model. Shoot 330 panels in 9 hours then spent 8 just to place them on Google Maps, what a nonsense considering million of apps are using GPS at full available precision without cutting corners in it because some idiots used the wrong varible type or less precision in decimal numbers than needed. Over the past year the Ricoh Theta Z1 developed a reputation (partly thanks to my review) for being a great all-in-one camera for shooting virtual tours, but is this still deserved? A third way to process the Z1’s DNG photos is through the Theta Z1 Stitcher app and the Theta DNG Transfer app. Both were made by Yoichi Hirota (developer of the Mi Sphere Converter and other apps), and both apps are currently available in beta for Android. iOS versions may be possible, depending on demand. I don’t know yet. I’m testing it. Theta Z1 does run on Android OS so in theory the USB Type C can be used to connect and save files directly to external storage with the right plugin. What I didn't like If you are looking for an all in one 360 camera for shooting high quality virtual tours then the Theta Z1 is still the camera I recommend. The Z1 is capable of shooting very high quality images which can be further improved if you utilise the Dual Fish Eye Plugin. Considering the cost and ease of use this is the camera I would go to if I needed to create high quality virtual tours at volume. The denoise value is set a little stronger so that the sky noise disappears. As a result, details may be crushed.
