Take a drive down the coast from St. Andrews (around 30 minutes) and spend a few hours enjoying its charming seafront (with a big bag of fish and chips, naturally). Ditch the car (or just ferry it along) and explore some of the gorgeous artist’s galleries of Blue Beyond, or the delicious Chocolates and Beyond that make some yummy treats. Scotland has a massive variety of landscapes, including two national parks: the Cairngorms National Park, a truly beautiful range of mountains and surrounding hills in the east highlands, and Loch Lomand and the Trossachs National Park which contains wild mountains and deep mysterious lochs. Add to these thousands of miles of coastline and the possibilities for outdoor pursuits seem limitless. The longer route takes you west, via Stirling, and then into the Trossachs National Park. “Outlander” fans can stop to explore Doune Castle (“Castle Leoch” in the TV show), and further along the route we guide you to stone circles where you can try to travel through time. After a photo stop at the Falls of Dochart, you travel along the shores of Loch Tay towards Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, where you can end the day with a choice of distillery tours. On the way south, you can fit in one last distillery tour with a visit to Dalwhinniewhich holds the title of thehighest operational distillery in Scotland.
