About this deal

Aiden is still a creep hot psycho and Elsa is still a hot mess of unfinished business and lost memories.

This one felt very...messy. And redundant. Way too many scenes felt like they were replicas of each other and the same push/pull pattern played out between Elsa and Aiden over and over again...the same set of circumstances, within similar scenes, with almost identical results...zero plot momentum. The secondary characters were just as funny and interesting as ever. I also loved the two newest addition Knox and Teal who are foster siblings of Elsa. I enjoyed how we got a little glimpse into Ethan and Jonathan’s mind as well. Ethan was truly an amazing father to Elsa. Sure it does.” Cassian continued, “It means that you were reading something embarrassing… or you were trying to hide that you were busy so I wouldn’t be deterred from coming to speak to you… so, which one is it?” This book also sets up some of the next books in the series. I want to know more and find out who the rest of the horsemen will end up with and what is they mystery between Xander and Kim. I would almost think that Kim’s brother Kai is their son, but his age doesn’t add up. So I don’t know what is going on with them. I can’t wait to find out more. Aiden WAS SO BAD IN THIS ONE he felt like a bad boy straight from Wattpad! I'm not kidding. He was so good in the first book, being all that dark, mysterious guy. But in this, he used her for his horny cravings 🙄

See a Problem?

Teal was such a breath of fresh air in this book and I kept readind for the scenes she, Ronan, Cole and Kim appeared. Oh, also, meh on Knox. He feels like Ronan-lite. I don’t need a diet-Ronan. I have one entirely sinful and enjoyable Ronan. Knox is fluff. What seems like hours pass, and I still don’t have the energy to stand up, let alone take a closer look at my wound. My upper body slumps to the cold floor. The ground smells like the stables at my father’s friend’s house. Her fingers comb through my tangled hair then she glides the cloth over my arm, forcing me to eat with one hand. Run and I'll chase. Hide and I'll conquer. Time to make your move, sweetheart. Tropes in this book: sports, high school, bully, non-con/dub-con

It was so hard to say goodbye to them even I know there are more books, in this series, in which they will be as side characters. When Aiden is in love he: If a kiss had a purpose, this one would be all about finding each other kisses Elsa like he is finding himself again. He doesn't see himself: For the rest of our lives, I want to be the only one who witnesses her breaking and support her through the storm. I want to be the one who soothes her ache when she needs soothing. The one who wipes her tears when they need wiping. The one who lifts her up when she needs lifting. I want to be there for her, full stop with any other girl because What I feel for you isn’t only love, obsession, or addiction. It’s all of those and more. Do you know what that means, sweetheart? It means I can’t live without you there's no one else who makes him feel that way. If Elsa is by his side it makes: Anything that involves having you by my side is the perfect plan him feel whole and he can't think of anything else: There hasn’t been a day where I haven’t thought about you. Every time I manage to sleep, I dream of you. She waves a hand in front of my face, the two lines between her brows deepening. “Can you hear me?” And even after they get together, it isn't over yet. There is still one missing piece and that is Elsa's past. A past she doesn't remember, that was buried under the ashes of the great fire.Aiden is a sociopath, so his bullying and then later his possessive nature can be explained by the fact that he doesn’t feel empathy and can’t understand why she would want to have male friends, since she has him. Elsa is aware that he feels something for her, and she also displays some jealousy and possessiveness towards Aiden. And though Elsa is more justified in her feelings than Aiden is, the jealousy is a bit exaggerated in her as well. Ellie. Are they really aliens? Do they do weird twin alien shit at home? Do I have to save you? I have my white horse waiting just outside.” (Ronan) Aiden didn't anticipate to like Elsa so much and fall for her. He's used to everything being under his control, so when Elsa storms into his life, he is intrigued and starts falling for her. But their past is catching up to them and its a whole big twisted web of lies and deceit. Can they overcome the ghosts of the past and finally be together? Or will their empire crash and burn? Elsa finds out that Aiden had been playing her all along and decides that she isn't going to be a pan in his game anymore. There is a lot of push and pull and angst between them and they both like each other but are afraid to give in.

Oh god Rina Kent you keep dropping bombs at the end of the book, thank god I don't have to wait for ths next book or else this suspence would have made me crazy! The storyline is so interesting that I couldn't put the book down because there were so many secrets which made me read until I discovered them all. I am having a hard time rating this book because even if I didn't like some of the scenes, this series is soooo good. The main characters' chemistry is so powerful and I love, like really really love the other characters in this book especially Ronan and Kim. The main characters are in high school, but this is definitely an erotic romance. The heat level between Aiden and Elsa is off the charts, five flames out of five 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Like I said, Aiden is a sociopath and he is extremely dominant. There may be triggers for some people. The love scenes are incredibly steamy and there are times when he gets jealous and things start out in anger. Though both Aiden and Elsa can’t seem to resist each other. The plot was such a strong one that you couldn't help yourself finishing it sooner or slower, it felt like I didn't want their story to end as well as I wanted to know the end. And that end completely made a havoc in my mind, life and my damn schedule. Heaps of theories formed inside my brains. I couldn't pinpoint where it might go, so full stars for the twists which were so thrilling and riveting. The thing about this author is you never know when you might cross a forest or when you might stumble upon a desert. That kept me going for ever. Filthy as dirt, Pervy as Me!

So by now, we are all in love with Aiden. He's honest, direct and possessive. So what does he find in her? She's indecisive, bratty and dumb. Yes, dumb! Her POV is very frustrating to listen to. She comes to the wrong conclusions and then blows things up so big. If that's not enough, she becomes stubborn and refuses to listen to Aiden's side of the story. After all, he's only the love of her life. Yes dumb!!! The first few chapters are annoying to listen to for this reason. With ear buds on, I would visualize strangling her with my hands till she smartened up. I personally don't like books with obvious misunderstandings.

By the time everybody had gone upstairs to bed, she had selected a second book, in case the first proved disappointing, and was making her way to her bedroom, her head full of questions. Lucien had not spoken to her since he arrived, nor had she spoken directly to him, she supposed. She had caught him looking at her on more than a few occasions when she had tried to look at him, and she knew that he definitely had something to say to her. She wasn’t entirely surprised then when, as she pushed her bedroom door open, he appeared beside her in the hallway. “Elain…” Shane and Keira did an amazing job on the narration! I absolutely love duet narration it just brings the story to life. She’s wiping my face with a wet cotton cloth, but the more she wipes the more her expression falls. Like he wants to shield you from the world. I don’t think you even notice it, but sometimes, he looks at you like he can’t breathe without you. And believe me, that’s not the King everyone knows.”

The most catastrophic mistake any general can make is to feel comfortable and ignore the outside world. Well, even if it is...no one can change my mind!! Aiden was such a sweet person under the hard exterior. He loved Elsa so much and was always by her side. He may have been possessive and an asshole, but he still let Elsa hold her own in situations. Some may think that the bullying went far at times, but honestly, I enjoyed it and it felt like Aiden did it for her own good, to make her strong (and also for his twisted mind.)
