About this deal

Action cards - indicated by numbers 1 - 15. Each action card is explained in the accompanying booklet. If the player completes the challenge they get a point (or chip). It’s been a while since we did a full on game review, but this one was fun and the kids are currently obsessed with it, so here’s what you need to know about the Upside Down Challenge Game. What’s in the box?

To play, you will also need some other objects including toilet roll tubes and water (if you’re brave!) before the game starts, although if you don’t have these to hand you can skip these challenges. Who can play the #UpsideDownChallenge? We especially loved: The wide range of movies covered and the fact it was so easily scalable - while there are four playing pieces you can easily work in teams making it the ultimate party game for film fans.At first glance, the Upside Down Challenge Game may seem like a very simple concept. All you need to do is draw a picture, or complete an easy task. Pretty straight forward, right? The winner is the first player to win 5 tokens! But once you get the special googles on and start trying the challenges, you will soon see that this sounds so much easier than it really is! What Do We Think Of The Game? The premise: The ultimate movie game for movie buffs, using streamed clips of classic movies of all genres that can be played through your TV or tablet/phone device. Working out at around 20 minutes per player, once we’d played it a few times we were able to complete the game in around an hour which also made it a good option for an in-depth game that wasn’t too long for younger players’ attention spans. We especially loved: How easy it was to learn and how ingenious some of the tasks were. Meanwhile, if you have little ones who get frustrated at not being able to do things as well as older members of the family this is a brilliant leveller.

The mechanic is relatively simple. You have your objective so you travel the sector earning credits to recruit allies, deploy ships and put obstacles in the way of your opponents to thwart them from taking power before you can. Verdict: Ravensburger’s Villainous range is a great bridge between more serious European-style board games and child friendly options, with the familiar characters of Disney, Marvel and - now - Star Wars making for a gentle start to more hard-core gaming.Full disclosure: I had actually seen this on the forthcoming Funko list and hinted to my husband that I’d love it for Christmas even before I got to play test it. Let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed and as a big fan of the heart-warming Apple TV show and long-time gamer, if I’d opened it on Christmas Day I would have been thrilled. We especially loved: Because it’s divided into chapters it can be played over a few nights. We took it on a weekend away and played two chapters a night and it added a real sense of occasion to the game as well as making it feel more manageable for everyone. Verdict: For many of us the film of The Wizard of Oz is a Christmas staple and this beautifully designed and well-thought out co-operative board game could easily become another family festive tradition.

Each challenge card has two difficulty levels so younger children can do the easier ones (marked with a feather) and adults can do the ones marked with a dumbbell. The competition is open to entrants over 18 yrs from the UK only. The winner will be chosen at random after the competition closes – but see the full t&cs below. Terms and Conditions of Giveaway The one niggle with the absolute littlies? If one of your opponents is looking more worthy of a Hollywood handshake you can sabotage their chances of glory with action cards. This caused a few tears with the smallest gamers at the table, but were soon eased with a piece of snowman shaped shortbread. The Upside Down Challenge board game ranks in the category of action and skill games for 2 to 6 players. It brings together children from 7 years old, teenagers and adults around the same activity without anyone getting bored . The challenges to be met are simple and yet age is not necessarily an asset to help you better meet them. Everyone needs to be imaginative and confident to win. A good dose of concentration, adaptation and wit is welcome. Its two main strengths are the optical effect of reverse vision and its entertaining aspect. As it does not require any particular culture, it remains accessible to all. However, its contents should be kept away from children under 3 years old, as some small objects may present a risk of suffocation. What Comes in the Box? Verdict: In the same way that Funko took on collectible figures to give people memorabilia for oft-overlooked things they loved in Pop form, they now seem to be doing the same with their Funko Games imprint and I am absolutely here for it.We especially loved: As ever, the game board, cards and pieces were well-made of premium card and just felt of incredibly high quality. The artwork of London was sumptuously designed, with the added benefit that there are so many different routes around the city you can play the game over and over again in different ways. The premise: Move over Syabira, there's a new star baker in town, courtesy of this fun and easy-to-learn card game. By the way: one of the few facts I remember from my Psychology degree is that if you wear glasses that invert your vision for long enough your brain will correct what you see to the normal way up. I am absolutely not suggesting you test this out though, especially as George M Stratton found it took about 4 days. The glasses that come with this game should only be worn for short periods and under adult supervision. Fans of the original Scotland Yard will notice a few small differences here and there - not just in terms of character names but also the number of rounds you get is reduced making for shorter game play and less time to prevaricate.

We love family games here at A Rose Tinted World and we are always looking for great games for 6 year olds. So we were delighted to be offered the chance to play this game and tell you all about it. What is the Upside Down Challenge Game All About? Simple Gameplay: Wear the specialized yellow goggles and compete with friends and family to do challenges with your vision flipped upside down. What happens when your world turns upside down? Find out when you put on the goggles and experience how easy tasks suddenly turn into a really challenge! This looks great fun, nice size box as most games come with boxes that are huge and oversized. Great idea and totally different to most other games. Instructions were in two separate books made it more difficult and English wasn’t the first language. Would’ve been easier to merge the instructions into one book. Once I explained what they had to do for each card they were happy to go along with it and found easy to play. They did find the tasks challenging and lots of laughing from both kids. Really did keep them entertained, especially the 7 year old who was winning at all the challenges! They became very competitive playing this game. Both boys loved trying to complete the challenges, even after the timer was up. This game was played with friends and family and lots of fun and giggles. We have played this game about 4 times now. My 7 year old loved the funny glasses. 11 year old loved attempting to draw the challenges. I loved that is kept the kids entertained for longer than 5 minutes. Age suitability was ideal. Definitely great game to play at Christmas. All ages could play the game as there is an easier option and a harder option on each card. Contents for the game good quality and love that it uses items which we always have in the house! Reasonable value but feel it would’ve been better if some additional “props” were included. The game is fab quality and hard wearing…..even after being bounced off the floor when a challenge was lost! We would buy this as fun game and totally different from the usual games. Would recommend for all the same reasons and because it is ideal for all ages. This is a fantastic game which is suitable for all ages thanks to the cards having options for those younger and older. Kids loved trying the different challenges! There aren’t many games which the two kids will happily play together but this is definitely one of their favourites. Jacqueline Southam – Corey and Brodie – 7 & 11 Years The aim of the game is to collect five tokens; then you’re the winner! (You can change the number of tokens to make the game shorter or longer). While there is theoretically a learning element of this game where children can learn to appreciate the challenges that people with sight difficulties have this game is ultimately designed for amusement and entertainment value. This is a worthy addition to the stable and, as big Star Wars geeks, is now our family's preferred flavour of the game. The addition of both original trilogy classic characters as well as ‘new’ villains like Kylo Ren and The Clone Wars’ Asajj Ventress meant it was popular with both the younger and older players at the table. Both drawing and action tasks come in two levels of difficulty. Easier tasks for younger players are denoted by a feather symbol. And harder versions for older players are denoted with a dumbbell symbol. Also - and let’s face it, this is a massive perk during the festive season - my six-year-old was able to set this up and play it with his friends without adult intervention, leaving us some time to do something else. Non Stop Fun! - Get your family and friends together and create memories while playing fun, high quality and challenging games that everyone can enjoy. Perfect gift for birthdays or Christmas as it allows adults and kids to interact and bond over hours of laughter and stimulating activities. Games cater to all levels of knowledge and experience so everyone can have a turn and have a good time!
