About this deal

Shadow Panther was the head of the Predacon Secret Police, although rumors swirled about his origins and true allegiance, with some saying he was secretly a Builder rebuilt as a Predacon, or that his Spark had been altered by aliens. Which was, of course, ridiculous. After the Grand Uprising, he became a part of the second Tripredacus Alliance and a representative of the Independent Predacus States at the Cybertronian Parliament. Derailment War for Cybertron Trilogy marketing material This release came with a DVD of "Convoy Disappeared", the Japanese dub of " Chain of Command" which was an episode that didn't feature Cheetor in any sort of meaningful way, despite episodes that do being easy to come by. This version of Cheetor was repurposed as Cataclysm in the Beast Wars: Uprising story " Derailment".

Takara released two different Cheetor toys; one that was the same as Hasbro's red-eyed version, and a running change version in January 1998 that not only has various color tweaks to make him slightly more show-colored (including dark green cheetah eyes, a gold head crest instead of blue, and red robot eyes), but also has a slight mold tweak to keep the beast head pointed forward in robot mode, based on Hasbro's initial release of Tigatron, which has been retained on all versions thereafter. While Shadow Panther's fellow Predacons saw only pain and failure in their history, Shadow Panther saw a golden age. He had spent years studying the records of his Decepticon ancestors, and idolized Megatron's inner circle of loyalists as the very best of their kind. He held a special fascination for Ravage, with whom he felt some kind of spiritual connection. Primal, Megatron and Scorponok all (at least partially, in Primal's case) share their names with G1 characters, so I guess those prefixes are there to differentiate them. "Cheetor", "Rattrap" and "Tigatron" are all BW-original names. While returning to their ship, the rogue Predacon Dinobot barred their way and challenged Optimus to a duel. Although Cheetor was keen to fight in Primal's place, Rattrap restrained him; when the other Predacons interrupted the fight, the battle revealed a huge energon crystal in a nearby mountain, and the Maximals rushed to claim the bounty before the Predacons could take it for themselves. High amounts of energon radiation forced both sides to fight in their beast modes, and although Cheetor fared better against Waspinator the second time round the energon was all destroyed. Beast Wars (Part 2) Much like Optimus Primal, at some point during the development of The Last Knight, Cheetor was considered to appear in the movie. A few designs were conceptualized during the film's production (see #Gallery). As with all Transmetal 2 toys, he features a spark crystal, a small, clear-colored ball with a vacuum-metalized faction logo inside. Cheetor's spark is placed on his left hind leg. After reactivating in his new beast mode, Cheetor helped Nyx repair their damaged ship before the high-flying pilot took off to explore the planet with her new wings. Cheetor was upset by this, as it meant that he'd have to turn to the notoriously unhygenic Rattrap to reach into narrow components. Savage Landing Part 2 When night fell and Nyx still didn't return, Cheetor grew restless and considered striking out on his own to find her before Optimus shot down the idea. Savage Landing Part 3 Kabaya released a set of models based on Metals characters, of which Cheetor was one. He came with candy! He also came in translucent plastic, if you wanted it.

Cheetor was among Blaster's minions when they teamed up with negative polarity Ravage. Recordicons #12

This figure was retooled into Shadow Panther, and then redecoed into Legacy Nightprowler. The mold's robot and beast mode legs were also reused on the Hasbro PulseCon-exclusive War for Cybertron Trilogy " Covert Agent Ravage". Transmetal Cheetor's torso panel hinges went through several iterations during development. The resin hardcopy prototype started off with the panels' hinges being on the inside of the hinges connected to the torso. The second iteration in the test shot phase swapped this orientation, having the outer hinges be on the panel and the inner hinge be connected to the torso. By the final point of development, the hinges were kept the same as the second iteration, but were reinforced at the base to prevent breakages. [11] Coincidentally, some test shot copies of the toy were molded in colors similar to that of the Armada Cheetor retool which was released six years later. Part of the fourth wave of Kingdom Deluxe Class toys, Shadow Panther is a retool of Cheetor from the same line, with a new head based on the original figure's mutant head. He transforms into a "panther" in 20 steps. Shadow Panther's tail can detach to become a bladed whip, similar to Cheetor's Transmetal toy. His beast mode has fully articulated limbs and his jaw can open and close.

The Megatron of Cheetor's native time and universe accidentally referred to Bumblebee as "Cheetor". Bee in the City A Change to the AgendaThe Takara Beast Wars Metals release of the Transmetal Cheetor toy features a number of small but notable changes from the Hasbro version. The most immediately noticeable is that the "CHEETOR" tampograph on his beast mode was changed to "CYBERTRON" and the Maximal faction symbol. The other changes make Takara's version closer to Cheetor's show appearance than the Hasbro version: green robot mode eyes (Hasbro's version has light blue), painted cheetah teeth (Hasbro's are unpainted), and the gray plastic is more blue-hued than the Hasbro version's semi-French-gray.

Cheetor is the first character to speak in Beast Wars and the last character to speak in Beast Machines. This toy, like most of the Netflix War for Cybertron Trilogy toys, is a Walmart exclusive in the U.S. and Canada. Like the rest of its Deluxe Class wave, Cheetor was found in Walmart stores on March 13 [7] before an official unveiling. In robot mode, his head has the same feature; turning it left or right opens and closes his Muppet-like jaw. The "swiping"-action arm—now on his right side—is still available in this mode and can be used to swing his tail-whip around. Because of Cheetor's unusual body proportions and very small feet, he has issues standing up properly in this mode, especially with his legs positioned in the proper cat-like digitigrade style. After a decisive Maximal victory at the Standing Stones, an alien probe swallowed Optimus Primal. The argument over who would lead turned into a secret ballot, during which, from Rhinox's reaction, Cheetor voted for Dinobot, suggesting he trusted the Predacon's leadership skills over those of Rattrap. As it turned out, the exercise was rendered pointless by the revelation that Optimus wasn't dead after all. Chain of Command Down but not out, the Maximals began preparing their defenses for the impending Vehicon assault. The shields did not hold long, and the Maximals found themselves fighting against hordes of drones. The Maximals used spark power bestowed on them by the Oracle to decimate the drones, until Megatron took the Oracle from them. Cheetor found himself facing the three Vehicon Generals on his own, but was able to use the anti-gravity generators to fire Obsidian and Strika into orbit. Cheetor struggled with Thrust, but finally used a spark extractor against him. He was unprepared to face his next foe—Megatron, newly installed into a duplicate of Primal's old "optimal" body—and finally had his own spark torn out by a Cycle Drone. When Legends Fall After a city-spanning battle, Optimus sacrificed himself to destroy Megatron and reformat Cybertron into a technorganic paradise. Cheetor and the other Maximals were restored to their bodies; as the captive sparks were reborn, Cheetor had a final vision from the Oracle, who told him that Optimus would always be with them. Seeds of the Future Cheetor was a quiet and confident warrior, who constantly stalked jungles in his search for Predacons. He was efficient, striking hard and fast with incredible reflexes in either mode. He was known to openly dare Predacons to challenge him and his laser-powered quasar cannon. Cheetor Bio
