About this deal

The focus ring is large and easy to rotate. Due to having a focus-by-wire stepping motor, the focus ring is not coupled mechanically to anything, so it can be set up to perform different functions such as change lens aperture. If you decide to manually focus with the lens, keep in mind that the experience is completely different when compared to Nikon F lenses. Personally, I am not a big fan of the way Nikon implemented manual focusing on the Z system – I wish there was a way to set up manual focus parameters, such as focus throw speed and acceleration.

If this 1,200×900 pixel crop is about 3" (7.5cm) wide on your screen, the complete image would print at a large 14×21″ (35 × 55 cm) at this same high magnification. What you will see is less weight: this lens weighs 14.5 oz. (412g) while the F-mount AF-S 50mm f/1.8 on the FTZ Adapter weighs 11.3 oz./318g (6.6 oz./185g + 4.7 oz./133g), and it's shorter, even with the adapter, and costs less, even with the adapter. Besides that wild lens diagram, a few features about the Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena stand out to me. First, the 11-bladed aperture diaphragm is clearly designed to give out-of-focus highlights a smooth, circular shape. Second, the lens has a metal construction rather than the usual high-quality plastic of other Nikon Z lenses. And third – something not shown in the specifications above – is that Nikon’s press release extensively emphasizes that the 135mm f/1.8 Plena is designed for minimal vignetting.I like these boots, and I think they’ve become my new favorite hunting boots. They’re comfortable and protect my feet well, and stitch quality is quite good. They required no break-in, provide adequate arch support, and fit well. The Laowa 15mm f2.0 Zero-D has a 16 degrees wider angle of view and is manual focus only. It costs 1000 EUR / 850 USD. This new Z lens has an electronic diaphragm for quiet operation and is designed also for shooting video, with little to no focus breathing (no change in image size as focused). Nikon claims it's dust and drip resistant. Macro gets about as close as most lenses (1:6.7 or 0.15×), and it stays sharp and contrasty even at f/1.8:

The Nikon Z 50mm f/1.8 S has high build quality, with a solid feel and a metal lens mount, which should ensure many years of use. I had some reservations about this model boot at first, because even though it has a fairly tall 8″ shaft, it doesn’t have any speed-lacing hooks, so the laces always stay in their eyelets. Sometimes this makes taller boots tough to put on and take off. There’s no stabilisation (Vibration Reduction or VR) built-in, but the Z 7 has IBIS (in-body image stabilisation) so it would be unnecessary. Like the Z 6 and Z 7, however, the lens is sealed against dust and moisture. This lens has no Optical Image Stabilization (OIS, IS or VR (Vibration Reduction)), but it is designed to work with the built-in stabilization of Nikon's cameras.

Sample Images

In addition to enhanced brightness, the optical formula and larger rear element helps to realize beautiful, well-rounded bokeh throughout the entire frame, even from maximum aperture. The NIKKOR Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena also affords users outstanding sharpness and clarity, regardless of the shooting distance with a close minimum focusing distance of only 0.82 m/2.69 ft. This enables a fantastic dreamlike expression that combines delicate textures and beautiful bokeh in portraits, landscapes and more. Scrutinising images at 100% on a computer screen, reveals a slight fall in sharpness when the aperture is closed down from f/8 to f/11. There’s another very slight drop in sharpness at f/16, the smallest aperture. But it’s only really by comparison that you’ll spot this, the results are very good indeed. Chromatic Aberration, Distortion, Vignetting and Flare A multi-focusing system uses stepping motors (STMs) for fast, accurate and quiet autofocus drive for still images and video. These boots do come with a high price tag (even higher if you go with the GTX boot) but I am telling you, you get what you pay for. There are less expensive options out there but after a year or two you’ll probably be looking at getting a replacement. Like I said earlier, I’ve been wearing this boot for over 2 years with no signs of falling apart. Make sure though that you pull the upper portion of the boot around your calf up when putting your foot in. If not, the area where your heel enters and slides against may wear over time and tear.

That’s one of Nikon’s difficulties with the new Z lineup: convincing buyers – many of whom already own excellent F-mount glass – that the S lineup doesn’t have your everyday f/1.8 lenses. And, as you can see from the specifications below, the 50mm f/1.8 S is more than an “everyday” lens in some important ways: Handling and Build Quality The Plena is a beautiful lens in every way. From the premium metal exterior to the brightness and image rendering that’s nothing short of breathtaking, this is a lens that needs to be experienced,” said Jay Vannatter, Executive Vice President, Nikon Inc. “This is exactly the kind of incredible optical innovation that our engineers promised was in our future, which could only be developed with the wider diameter and shorter flange distance of the next generation Z mount.” Weight: 503g (17.7 oz.) plus 27g for the lens hood. The F Nikkor is 353g (12.5 oz.) + 23g lens hood, the Sigma 944g (33.3 oz.). Adding another 133g (4.7 oz.) for the FTZ adapter to use it on a Nikon Z camera the F Nikkor is still slightly lighter than the new Z Nikkor and the Sigma is almost 1.1 kg (38 oz.). But when you compare the weight of a Nikon Z 20mm f1.8 S plus Nikon Z7 camera against the Nikon AF-S 20mm f1.8G plus Nikon D850 you still save 200g with the mirrorless equipment.[0] The inherent over-water capabilities of this helicopter, and its support by the existing fleet of Chinese Navy warships, also lets it participate in ship-to-shore amphibious assault operations. In Army service, this role is fulfilled by the "Z-8A" which entered service in late-2002 (to operate alongside existing Russian-made Mil Mi-8V5 transports). While the soles of these boots are somewhat aggressive and always kept me stable, when they loaded up with Georgia’s clingy red clay I was able to hose them out easily. This isn’t always the case; I have some boots that take a lot of hosing to de-clay the treads. LOWA Z-8S GTX boots

The Lowa Z-8S are very comfortable. The bottoms of these boots are soft and absorb a lot of impact, which is very important in a combat boot. Wearing something on your feet for up to 24 hours a day during those long military exercises or deployments, it’s a big deal when your footwear is comfortable.
