About this deal

Today we are fortunate enough to have dedicated 3D Scanning sprays, but they don’t come cheap. However, a lot of time and effort has gone into developing these specialised sprays and as a result you pay for what you get. If the surface is highly reflective or shiny, like a mirror, the light is reflected in a very focused way instead of a diffuse way. Put simply, this means that the chances of the beam hitting the scanner’s detector are greatly reduced, and the scanner won’t see the reflected beam of light.

You should do a few tests first to know how the spray behaves. For example: Do you need to spray close to the object? What happens when spray multiple layers on top of each other? Cleaningscanning spray is an evaporating solution that works to matt out reflective and transparent surfaces. In just a few sprays, surfaces are left more visible to a 3D scanner. This ensures much more efficient 3D scanning and complete scan results. Furthermore, all AESUB scanning sprays disappear immediately after use. CASTING PLANT & TECHNOLOGY - Full Surface 3D Measurements Facilitate Pattern Making and Provide Numerous Benefits to Foundries There are such a lot of additional aspects surrounding this subject but let’s be honest, quality data looks impressive to a client, particularly when the edges look nice and crisp, with very few holes in the data etc. But how good does the scan data really need to be? Well each job must be assessed in isolation and in respect of the clients end requirements. The 3D Scanning market is evolving at an extremely rapid pace. Month on month we see improvements, whether it be structured light, red laser, blue laser and even green laser scanners, the pace of change is phenomenal. The compounding effect of all these benefits is simple — you’ll save money and time. With fewer design iterations and faster prototyping, you can get products from blueprint to the market much faster. The reverse engineering and design iteration capabilities of 3D scanning also mean it’s easier for you to expand your product catalogue and business. Why Use 3D Scanning Sprays?

All AESUB vanishing sprays are ideal for spraying on challenging surfaces that would be otherwise difficult to capture with a 3D scanner. Also, when quality and accuracy are important factors in your 3D scanning project, you might want to apply a spray to remove as much as possible all the causes (for example: color differences, differences in reflection, texture, etc.). The AESUB spray creates a matte, white coating barrier to create the perfect scanning condition to improve scanning results.Summary. AESUB’s innovative 3D scanning sprays enhance scan quality by optimising even the most complex surfaces. These revolutionary sprays, developed by specialists, matte reflective and transparent surfaces for improved scanning. With easy application and automatic evaporation, AESUB offers a clean and efficient scanning solution. So it’s prudent to balance up the requirements against the cost of utilising some form of surface treatment such as 3d scanning spray. When we need to scan tiny partsranging from 1mm to 100mm with high accuracy and resolution, we prefer using a TiO2 mixture that we apply with a high-end airbrush system.

AESUB later came out with two other vanishing 3D scanning sprays including the AESUB Orange which lasts up to 24 hours, and AESUB Green for larger applications. This blog explains the basics of 3D scanning, what its benefits are, and how 3D scanning sprays can take your scanners to a whole new level. How 3D Scanning Works AESUB sprays are initially wet. Once vanished within a few seconds, they leave a semi-permanent coating on the surface. Wait a few minutes before spraying more at this point as you may spray too much. You can try to mitigate these issues by tweaking your 3D scanning settings or moving the scanner to a different angle. But the most reliable method is to use vanishing 3D scanning sprays to prepare your object. Transparent surfaces allow the light pulse to go through them without reflecting it — which means that you may end up scanning the stand or table under your object.

If you don’t want to spend time cleaning your part, you should go for a vanishing scanning spray. Which 3D scanning sprays are available? scanning enables you to streamline your prototyping workflow. If your initial prototype wasn’t successful, you can scan it and easily modify the design in a CAD software. You can also easily compare accurate measurement data between multiple design iterations, which can slash the number of prototype cycles. Improved Quality ControlThese timelines are based on ideal conditions and it’s dependent on environmental conditions. Please use these as general guidelines only. AESUB Blue is fantastic at protecting equipment from pigment deposits and it vanishes within 4 hours. It eliminates the transportation of externally matted measurement objects to the sensor. As well as reducing the time taken to clean the environment. It offers a homogeneous spray pattern, zero odour, and medium sublimation time. AESUB Orange Using less spray means this 3D scan spray is more cost effective than other commonly used reflective sprays! These sprays — like Aesub Blue — coat the object to be scanned with a pigment-free, thin matte coating. The coat negates the effect of dark base colours, excessive shininess, or clear surfaces on the part. As a result, you can get a much more accurate and reliable scan of practically any surface.
