Having done this, I thought I was onto a winner....and I could use my decent headphones after turning down the low end. However, I was greeted with a hissy, hollow sound which was by far inferior to that which I witnessed on channel 2 and 3 (the ones without EQ options). When choosing what mixer to get I had two choices, this one and a similar behringer model (which I do have and use in another place). I trusted the brand alto because I have a few other products from them, and they perform very well, so the name was not a problem. Ultimately the deciding factor for me was the on/off switch, not many mixers offer a switch when you are dealing with this small of a mixer. Plugging in and unplugging a mixer that doesn't move is a very repetitive and annoying step, and with this mixer I am able to leave it plugged in and just power it off with my computer.
