If you ever wondered how Summer in Italy smells like, then get a hold of Mancera Sicily, and you’ll know. Although this is another Citrus heavy scent from Mancera, it’s a bit special for having the perfect balance of vibrant fruity and beautiful floral notes.

Unfortunately for this fragrance, while still being a reminiscence of top and heart notes, what we are left with in dry down are vanilla, spicy amber, and clean musk. While I do find it a versatile fragrance, I don’t suggest over-spraying it since it could easily get cloying during a couple of hours and out of place in the office, on dates, and in similar situations. Where I found it to work the best were casual days where there is nothing serious to be done, during walks, errands, and enjoying it by myself. Yes, it can work as a night-out fragrance as well, best worn by younger men and women. And that’s when this beautiful scent will make the people around you compliment and ask about the cologne. In my experience, the perfect mix of creamy Vanilla and sweet musk works in harmony with the top notes to create a warm sensuality.Now to the fragrance itself, the title focuses on Oud, Lemon (here converted as Mandarin and Lemon) and Mint. In my opinion, the latter can only be found in the title, it can neither be found in the list of ingredients, nor can my nose really identify it in any phase of the fragrance process. I could understand Aoud Lemon even better. This is a fresh and fruity cologne, and it projects a sensational masculine vibe around you after applying. I soon hear the vanilla-amber base; the flowery, earthy middle section still resonates a little. Leather is a bit there, too, but more of the lighter variety. In the drydown I like the fragrance best. It's warm (amber) and sweet (vanilla) but is fluffy and lightened by minimal remnants of the top notes

Simply, Mancera Sicily carries a well-balanced, bright citrus vibe with uplifting floral sensuality. After wearing it, I felt like I was enjoying a summer vacation in the sun-soaked islands of Italy.Mancera Aoud Blue Notes – a fruity woody fragrance released in 2015. The main notes include fruity notes, Guaiac wood, and leather. The lasting power is 8 – 10 hours with moderate projection. You can still get that elegant smell of a successful young man without spending an arm and a leg on the cologne. This synthetic is my biggest reservation against Montale and Mancera so far. Nearly all fragrances tested so far stood out due to very prominent fragrances, all of which seemed very synthetic. The large number of releases also makes me a little suspicious. I would prefer some selected, really balanced and rounder fragrances. Besides, Oud - or as Montale and Mancera call it - makes it: Aoud - not every fragrance more exclusive, more complex and therefore justifiably more expensive. It simply doesn't go well with some compositions, especially not with supposedly light and fruity fragrances. Also the abundant patchouli and here animal musk distort the beautiful top note in the course. The drydown is clearly the highlight for me. The earthy, peppery oud mix becomes sweeter, softer and almost cuddles. I could swear that from the time I actually also perceive a hint of mint. But could also be that the remnants of lemon mixed with the jasmine and the sweetness of the vanilla somehow make it seem like you're detecting mint here.... ? I honestly don't know, but most people seem to be sure that there is no mint in it and I don't want to contradict them.

Originality: 7/10. It's not a copy of another fragrance but it feels like it's a patchwork quilt of a fragrance with different notes being assembled from different places. I will counter this by saying if you're new in your fragrance journey you will probably find this way more unique and possibly challenging than I did. Both Mancera and Montale niche brands are quite affordable, especially if you decide to shop from fragrance discounters which I highly suggest doing so that you can get the best value. In the dry-down, you’ll get a rich blend of jasmine and patchouli. After that, the tobacco notes will start to project along with some woody notes and vanilla. Given the fact that in a lot of ways, this scent that stood the test of time, and that its popularity is still high enough, what possibly could go wrong? While many releases have similar names and often share similar notes and accords, officially, each one is a standalone release without being a flanker of the other.The brand is known for its direct collaboration with Montalehouse( both owned by Pierre Montale) which was the beginning of a unique collaboration between a father and his daughter. In May 2015, Mancera opened their first luxurious perfume boutique at Place Vendome in Paris. Since 2017, Amélie Montaleis the art director of Mancera. Mancera Aoud Lemon Mint Story Good, but far from the best from the house, Aoud Lemon Mint gets the job done with a couple of sideroads here and there to get to where it wants to be.

As someone who has a lot of experience with Mancera in general, the hype and high expectations were justified from my side.

BASE NOTES

Guerlain L’Homme Ideal Eau de Toilette – a woody aromatic fragrance released in 2015. The main notes include almond, tonka beans, and leather. The lasting power is 6 – 8 hours with moderate projection. In the case of this fragrance, almond is used as a support note and feels creamier than almond ice cream would be.
