Arcade1Up is adding to its lineup of legacy cabinets with a new machine featuring 12 games from Midway's heyday. The Midway Legacy Edition arcade cabinet was revealed alongside the first trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie. Arcade1Up already revealed three legacy cabinets at CES earlier this year--Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Atari--each of which also have 12 games. The question remains with Arcade1Up cabinets: what sacrifices have to be made to get a 4-foot arcade cabinet replica in your home? The good news is the Mortal Kombat Arcade1Up cabinet (See it at Walmart)manages to distill the arcade Mortal Kombat experience into a device without a lot of sacrifices.

The cabinet can connect to the internet over Ethernet or Wi-Fi , though it had some problems keeping a wireless connection in testing. Arcade1Up has an online system for its games, with support for drop-in/drop-out multiplayer for people who own the same cab. You can make your games open for anyone, or just for people on a friends list, and manage all that for your entire collection (if you have more than one cabinet) with the Arcade1Up app. Multiplayer is nice in theory, but we were unable to find any open games available during testing. The online system keeps leaderboards for each game, though, so you can indirectly compete with your friends or everyone with a connected Arcade1Up cabinet.Switch up to any included game at will with the easy to navigate on-screen menus.
