The Audio Pro Link 2 is as small a music streamer you’re likely to find. Even the titchy Cambridge MXN10 is bigger in all dimensions. What that essentially means is that you can plonk the Link 2 among the rest of your hi-fi equipment without having to make space for it. If you are a music fan but your set-up is starting to get a little dated this handy little gadget will provide you with a refresh. I was impressed with the new capabilities such as Airplay 2 and Google Cast and if you already own some Audio Pro speakers your ability to create that multi-room platform.
The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc. Audio Pro has made speakers from their Swedish HQ since 1978. Streaming service support includes; Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect. Additional streaming services and USB storage device streaming is handled by Audio Pro’s own Control app. Otherwise, you have other means of streaming to the Audio Pro Link 2. It’s covered for Spotify Connect (naturally), Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, built-in Chromecast, and Bluetooth 4.2. There’s no MQA support with Tidal however, nor is there any Roon compatibility like you’d get from the more expensive Cambridge MNX10 network player.
You can also stream into multiple if you have other wireless speakers via Audio Pro or if you have AirPlay2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect or Tidal Connect giving you plenty of streaming options. The Link 2 has been equipped with many inputs which is an upgrade on the Link 1 model. The main change is the inclusion of an Airplay connection. This allows the user to bring older tech such as a CD Player, Turntables or even stereo speakers into the streaming world. The app does look like it could use a fresh coat visually, but it is responsive to use and easy to navigate, though I’ve found if I leave the app open for long enough it has a habit of crashing, necessitating a restart. Performance I have had freezes and hanging software. The App not seeing my speakers and my radio presets disappearing. - My Wifi Strength is 100% at 200mb .So I think its Hardware/software Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products (including amplifiers) that produce heat.To make things even easier, you also get four preset buttons across the top of the Link2, so it'll be a breeze to select a favorite internet radio station or playlist. Audio Pro Link 2 is a multiroom adaptor that will allow you to connect any of your audio devices to the Audio pro Multiroom system and follows on from the original Link 1. The Link 2 can connect to active speakers and source from radios, turntables, hi-fi systems or AV receivers. Control is simple by using the Audio pro App. The 36cm long cabinet is dark grey. Wit the the Link 2 you can revive your old audio equipment and modernize it to work with multi-room systems. What is a multi-room system? The front panel displays four LED’s indicating the active input. While the top of the Link 2 provides local selection of the inputs, Bluetooth status, power status, volume controls and previous, pause/play and next buttons plus 4 presets. The second version of the Scandinavian company’s streaming device gets a new form factor, an upgrade in features, but still adheres to the same philosophy as before in taking your old analogue equipment and bringing it into the modern age.
