About this deal

Jeez! That just blew me away! I really wasn’t expecting the twisty ending until the last minute when the penny (or should I say Bad Penny) dropped! Two is for Twins byWendy Cheyette Lewison: Embark on a delightful journey through the alphabet with twins, exploring the world of twins and the special things that make them unique.

Engage kindergarteners in learning and fun with these interactive books that celebrate twins. From educational activities to magical adventures, these books are perfect for young readers exploring the special bond of twins. The Twins were arrested and held at the Montluc military prison. One of their interrogators was Nikolaus “Klaus” Barbie, a Gestapo chief dubbed “The Butcher of Lyons” for his notoriously brutal methods. The plot is also kind of haywire and unbelievable, unlike the tightly knit, logical (there’s that word again!) and believable narratives of the AF series.

On April 11, 1945, American forces liberated Buchenwald. The Twins had survived there for more than a year. Thrillers lovers...read this book! You won't be disappointed. Also thanks to L.V. Matthews for chatting to me about this book when I finished it

Twins at St Clare's byEnid Blyton: Join Pat and Isabel O'Sullivan as they start their new life at St. Clare's boarding school, encountering adventures, friendship, and plenty of mischief along the way. By all metrics, though, the unsung hero here (to borrow Foaly's words) is absolutely NANNI: Nano Artificial Neural Network Intelligence (system), designed by Artemis with help from Myles, voiced by Holly, with a personality reminiscent of Tony Stark's JARVIS; I look forward to seeing how she continues to grow and snark and quite probably save everyone's bacon.

He would become infamous for the torture, murder, and deportation of thousands of people. Beatings, ice baths, boiling water, electrocutions, and upside-hangings were among his sadistic interrogation techniques. After a warning from the American Counsel, which said that all British civilians should leave France, their family headed for Lisbon, where they could board a boat to England. The brothers, held in a low-level camp for their nuisance-causing antics, escaped over the Pyrenees mountains. They were briefly imprisoned in Spain before being taken to the British Embassy in Madrid. It was there that a military attaché told Alfred and Henry about their family’s deaths on the Avoceta.

No Two Alike byKeith Baker: Celebrate the uniqueness of each snowflake in Keith Baker's delightful book. Through stunning illustrations and simple text, young readers will discover the beauty of winter and the wonder of nature's creations. It soon becomes clear that there is a horrendous event that both twins witnessed when they were teens that has shaped the course of their lives. Whilst Margo has no memory of this event it is clear that Cora does and she desperately wants to stop Margo from uncovering the details surrounding it. Whilst I am not painting Cora in the best light I did feel for her at times, I often questioned whether she was trying to protect Margo out of love? Shakespeare was interested in twins. He included not one but two pairs of identical twins in The Comedy of Errors, as well as Viola and Sebastian in Twelfth Night. The latter are obviously not identical, but after Viola disguises herself as a man, they apparently become indistinguishable (some suspension of disbelief is required). This leads to all manner of comedic confusion. Of course, Shakespeare himself was also the father of twins, Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet died at 11, about five years before Twelfth Night was written, and this knowledge gives added poignancy to Viola and Sebastian’s reunion at the end of the play, each having believed the other dead. After training, the efforts of Alfred and Henry – now known as The Twins – were marred by deep frustrations. Giving this a 2.5*s in the end. I absolutely loved the Artemis Fowl books when I was younger as he was a super-genius who was also a criminal. Very exciting to see a world of faeries and magic and see then through a criminal mastermind’s (who also is a kid) eyes. This is a spin-off series which follows Artemis’ brothers who are twins and each one has some similar traits to Artemis so together they make a good team. The story itself is also fast paced, and full of fancy technology talk that I’ve come to love with the Fowl novels, without dumbing down the language for a younger audience. The writing overall also still retains a lot of humour, and is so easy to read. The threats and scrapes the boys get into feel realistic too, and the villain of the piece is great.
