About this deal

I think I’m making that last part sound more dramatic than it actually is, because I was extremely giddy over their relationship. They are super duper adorable. It’s not long before they decide to risk it and be together, though without telling anyone about it. There’s plenty of covert kisses and discreet eye sex and sneaking around; normally this sort of secrecy would make me tense all over, but I was completely wrapped up in their love story. They are both so sweet on each other that I couldn’t help but be swept away. There’s an innocence to it – it really captures the rawness and beauty of first love. Knowing that tragedy was up ahead, I’m so grateful there is very little angst and drama between Kit and Jessa. Also, both characters are extremely likeable. Jessa is passionate and open in a way that’s unusual for this genre, and Kit is a sexy mix of strength and vulnerability. Hunting Lila was a little bit like watching a teen movie: a fun blend of romance and soft-thriller-action. I'm labeling it as a popcorn munchie type movie[book]: a little bit swoony, smiley, action-y and definitely addictive. It even features some twist-y turn-y plot revelations in the end, adding some unpredictability and a bit of oomph to the climax. Welcome to Paranormal Romance! This group is for the discussion and recommendation of paranormal romances and paranormal erotic romance, along with urban fantasy, science fiction, futuristic, and fantasy romance. If you love vampires, werewolves, and hot faery men, this is the group for you. Join up and discuss your favorite books! Lila has a genuine and strong narrative makes her instantly likeable. Easy to relate too especially when it comes to her love life (who hasn't crushed on someone older or someone they have know for years?) and she is also a lot of fun. Then we have Alex. Protective, smart and caring (and it doesn't hurt that he is gorgeous too). There is also a well rounded bunch of secondary characters that I am looking forward to getting to know better in the next installment.

This was a case of like, not love, for me. The concept and the plot were interesting and fun, respectively, and I see appeal of the romance, but overall, I can’t rate it above average, or “it was ok”. Which it was. Right from the first chapter, this book made my heart race. I just felt that kind of breathless intensity and connection to the story that I'm constantly searching for in books. I had a huge smile on my face and my review notes are pretty much filled with "OMG LOVE", "SO MUCH AWESOME", "I LOVE THIS", over and over again.Kit Ryan and his best friend Riley Kingsley, have pretty much done everything together since they were young boys, getting into mischief, getting into trouble for setting a garage on fire, as well as joining the Marines.

But as Jessa stands waiting for the Marine Chaplain to break her heart, she can’t help but feel that Kit has broken his promise… After her mother was brutally murdered five years ago, Lila was torn from her happy life in the United States, and relocated to London with her grieving father. In the space of weeks, she lost her mother, lost her brother and Alex, who remained in the States, and her mourning, absentee father is hardly there for her either. Not long after, her power manifested itself, and if she wasn’t isolated enough before, that seals the deal. She doesn’t have anyone to turn to—the two people she would are thousands of miles away—and it leaves Lila alone inside her head. Oh gosh... this book really just had gorgeous emotions!!! I didn't expect the story to be so deep but it really just reached right into my heart. I love a wide range of books but the ones the are my most favorite are the ones that make me FEEL with all my heart and that was what this book did. As a main character, I wished Lila had a little more agency, beyond dreaming up scenarios in which Alex would touch her. Honestly, her “maybe I should get bruised/injured/fall over so that Alex will touch me/catch me/hold me in his arms LOL” style of humour really irritated me. Lila does eventually do one or maybe two cool things, but this not until the very end of the book, which was disappointing given her huge potential. The forbidden aspect of their relationship was so thrilling!! The reason it was forbidden was two-fold. First, Jessa's father (also in the military) ruled the house. His word was law. He unfortunately was also suffering from PTSD (which he refused to see anyone for) and while he was never physically abusive, it was definitely an unpleasant environment to live in. And for a reason (that was later revealed), her father strongly disliked Kit in particular. Also, there was the whole thing about him dating his best friend's little sister -- Riley was a very protective brother and Kit had a bit of a colorful past so there was that aspect too. Run Away With Me was told in alternating views between Em and Jake. And while it felt a little jarring it first, I ended up loving how it was told. It was if I was right there with them, feeling everything that they were feeling. And while Em felt like a bff, I loved listening and watching everything Jake did. I fell incredibly hard for him. He was such a kind hearted, good man who was also at times fierce and protective. So of course I found myself rooting for everything I had for Em to accept the friendship Jake was offering to her. On leave for 4 weeks, moment of truth has finally come. Kit and Riley plan to make the most out of this time at home with their families. Including, revealing pent up longing and deep feelings hoping it's reciprocated. Oh yeah, thus begins the secret affair that makes your toes curl and the butterflies swarm. It's a beautiful thing. But what happens when you're on a time frame? What happens when you only have a few weeks? Is it long enough to develop into love; something that could last forever? And what about all the sneaking around? Is it worth telling everyone about and risking friendships and ridicule? After a while, the attachment and attraction between the marine and the intern get to dangerous levels. Didi is falling in love with Noel fast, and she has little if no control over what she feels for him. Didi is well aware that Noel does not believe in love and will eventually break her heart. She knows that there is no future between them, and her feelings will leave her heartbroken at some point. Jessa Kingsley has had a little crush on Kit for a long time. But what with an overbearing, controlling father and the fact Kit is away often, sometimes for 12 months at a time, she keeps her thoughts and feelings to herself. That is until her 18th Birthday, when Kit decides he isn't waiting any longer to let her know how he feels, and gives her the present of a lifetime.
