About this deal

Part of Lakeland’s much-loved Dry:Soon range, this drying pod regularly sells out for good reason. When testing we found that it dried clothes in around two to three hours thanks to the electric heater base unit (that circulates hot air around the pod). It's a fantastic way to keep on top of your laundry basket and it can reduce the ironing pile too as items are hung on hangers which helps to smooth out creases. The timer can be set up to run for up to three hours. LIGHTWEIGHT AND EASY TO MOVE: This Electric Dryer is amazingly lightweight yet very sturdy. Made of durable non-corroding metal and plastic and with castor wheels, it is easy to move around the house. Easy to clean, the frame can be wiped with a damp cloth and the cover can be hand washed. It is easy to assemble with no tools required and when folded flat does not take a lot of space for easy storing or transporting. Supplied with a 300W heater which sits at the airer's base, a gentle convection current does shorten drying. However, much of the warm air flow is wasted as the Home Revolution "Deluxe Maxi Plus"does not come with any sort of cover to contain the airflow. So the heater acts more as a small room heater! While the bars do become warm (the clue's in the name), they shouldn’t be too hot to touch, which is good news for parents of curious infants and toddlers. Can you leave a heated clothes airer on overnight?

While sounding impressive, this airer has more disadvantages than advantages, and is in essence more of a mobile wardrobe, and as far as heated airers for clothes is concerned is not one of the best. Pros: The only downside of the Dri Buddi is that unlike a non heated clothes airer, you will need to use electric to run it. But it doesn’t use a lot of energy and most definitely best heated airer we’ve reviewed. Best: Overall As with all the airers under test, the Dry:Soon airer needs to be assembled , which is extremely easy to do, and takes only 20 minutes or so thanks to clear, precise instructions. Then there’s our Best Value award, which goes to the JML DriBUDDi Portable Electric Clothes Dryer. This has a powerful motor, a space-saving layout and has a useful timer dial. It can hold up to 15kg of damp clothing (roughly 25 separate items) and if you hang smaller items on two tiers you can fit even up to 50 items. There are also optional 8 bars that can be added on either tier giving you even more options of placing your wet laundry even without hangers. This drier can accommodate varying sizes and lengths of clothing or even shoes leaving enough room for all the warm air to circulate. It’s super easy to assemble and can be done in less than 10 minutes, and is even easier to operate. All you do is turn the dial and at once DriBuddi will jump to life and do the rest. Unlike a traditional clothes horse or airer, heated airers are electric powered and have bars that heat up. When used with a cover, the drying effects are maximised. Some styles of heated dryers have fans that blow hot air inside a covered stand that looks like a small wardrobe. These are generally more expensive to run but can dry a small laundry load in under two hours. The terms 'heated airer' and 'heated dryer' are often used interchangeably. Is a heated clothes airer worth it? Cost to run - To ensure your airer is economical, most brands now give an estimated cost per hour based on the average usage. The classic "A frame" design makes this clothes airer extremely stable, and with its aluminium build it is also extremely light and easy to handle. With a built-in timer and an automatic shut-off function you can set it to dry overnight or leave the house without worrying it will overheat in your absence.

Heated clothes airers are generally safe but always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and safety advice. Many have timers and are thermostatically controlled to avoid overheating.Heated airers are essentially very simple appliances that consist of a frame and a heater, but let us just remind you of the important features you need to look for:

This heated clothes airer is slightly different to other electric clothes airers because you place your clothes and laundry on hangers, attached them to the rails and zip up the side of the heated dryer. Once the drying pod is closed, you simply activate the warm air motor and the drying will begin. To maximise the efficiency of the airer make sure it’s an adequate size for your requirements and a cover will help speed up the drying process. Cost This heated clothes airer does fold for storage, but while being 13cms and therefore relatively flat, its height may make it difficult to store away after use. The Best Heated Clothes Airer For The Home 2020 (Updated): The Dry:Soon 3 Tier Heated Clothes Airer (Editor's Choice) Energy saving: Some of the heated clothes airers in the list cost as little as 4p an hour to run, making them a great addition to your home for energy saving.

While not as tall as some of the clothes airers in this review, it is extraordinarily stable, and with its gateleg design, it can be neatly positioned against a wall if room space is at a premium. Despite criticism about its height, the Dry:Soon airer is actually tall enough to accommodate trousers and bath towels. The only downside with this airer is that it has a fairly high energy consumption compared to some of our other models. Take-Home
