About this deal

All the anticipation has built up to this point, its time to start pulling shots but first to dial it in. Using the grinder is simple. It utilizes electronic dosing for the timing. The grind adjustment you can make courser or finer with the adjustment knob. Getting a grinder set up can be a daunting task, especially if it is your first time. I usually say to focus on the grind setting first, and weigh out an 18 gram dose. That way you are not trying to adjust the grind and the time duration at the same time which usually leads to a ton of frustration. With this one, I don’t think you’ll get any enemies if you use it in the early morning when people are still asleep. The Specialita is the model I've used, and it comes with the larger 55mm burrs for faster grinding and the touch screen controls. It's made more for espresso, so it's bundled as standard with the portafilter forks. Being short is a big plus for our kitchen, we don't have much space on the worktops under the cupboards, so I struggle with taller grinders. I've used the Eureka Atom 65 too, and that was a struggle to fit under the cupboards, which meant having to use the grinder quite a distance from the espresso machine.

However if you want a better user experience at the cost of longevity of the machine and higher noise level, the Sette wins the day out of the box. In the lower, cheaper range, you’d have some conical burr models that weren’t engineered for espresso.

Eureka Specialita Overview

It is always exhilarating to slice open the tape and hope our expectations are about to be met. Inside the box, Eureka has the grinder and associated parts nestled into fitted pieces of foam. There are not many parts. The grinder, the hopper with lid, and the portafilter fork was detached from the machine.

The Eureka Mignon Specialita Coffee Grinder features a crisp new touch-screen with 2 Programmable doses, total control of grinding time and also a continuous mode. It’s worth pointing out that Eureka is a really old company — this year marks their 100 years anniversary, and that’s also reassuring. A company doesn’t get that old if it doesn’t make good products. The Mignon grinders have very small retention, in fact, during the Clive Coffee retention comparison experiment they found that the Specialita only retained about 1.3g, which is among the lowest of all those they tested.

Filtro and Crono are meant for filter and drip coffee. Rather than a portafilter holder, they have a grounds bin, which indicates they are for brew coffee rather than espresso. The Silenzio is for espresso. This is really what you're looking for when grinding for espresso, nice fluffy grinds without clumping – and this is what I experienced with the Mignon Specialita, lovely fluffy clump free grounds. We're talking about completely different kinds of grinders, so it's a difficult comparison. The Niche Zero has great burrs, big 63mm conical burrs, being conical burrs make it more compatible with single dosing – and it has no hopper, as it's meant as a single doser. If you don’t mind the small dial, the Eureka Mignon Specialita gives you detail and precision that lets you dial in espresso to your exact liking. Value I was actually taught to purge a whole double basket of coffee in between adjustments, which seems very wasteful, but this is because the training was done using the Mythos One, a serious commercial grinder, and this has a retention of around 13g.Mignon is also well-designed and well-fitted. It is available in a wide range of colourways. The body is made of metal, which makes it durable. A transparent, plastic hopper may hold up to 300g of beans I think all of the Mignon models will grind comfortably for manual or espresso, but I think it makes sense to look at Silenzio and Specialita for espresso, and Crono, Perfetto, or Brew Pro for manual brewing, as these have features that are more geared towards grinding for manual brewing. Eureka Mignon Vs. Sage Smart Grinder Pro By providing Authority to Leave you agree that the parcel is deemed to have been received when left at your premises.
