TL;DR You could do a lot worse for a free Kindle novel. It's a fully-put together and edited novel. The problem is everything else: plot, characters you adore, great-sounding sex. All this was absent. And in my opinion, if I thought the plot was unbelievably stupid AND there wasn't even any good sex to hold it together, what's the point? There isn't a point. Reading it is pointless. I shift uncomfortably. “Not if I can avoid it. Or I spend a few months privately learning in secret, so I’m not embarrassingly bad at it.” Stoic, broody, and arrogant, elite bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: 1) Protect his clients at all costs 2) Do not become emotionally involved. Ever. The book ends with Polyandry. I'm pretty sure this is still illegal. No explanation is given. Just WTF? Makes no sense. The dynamic within this group of characters is fantastic. We get hilarious scenes, touching scenes, lots of sexy scenes, and even a few arguments. All of the characters are flawed and go through some sort of growth in this book. I like that and it works really well. To succeed I have to survive a world tour, public scrutiny, and idols turned enemies. But the biggest threat of all isn’t a meticulous front man, a narcissistic bassist, and a drummer with too many secrets.
And those are the golden words when it comes to bullying, aren't they? I don't want to say this book is heavy, because it is relatively light, but I was surprised with how many important topics it covered: cyber bullying, cancel culture, slut shaming, the rigged schools who turn a blind eye at clearly tormented kids, the way everything still affected the adult heroine in tiny little ways. The guys have been teaching me how to get a boyfriend, and now it's time I put their lessons to the test. star equals a bad book. I barely finished this book and I will never recommend anyone waste valuable book reading time on this book. This isn't to my taste. I went in with an open mind, but most of the sex acts in here just sound uncomfortable and unpleasant for the female MC. I didn't find it sexy. The only sexually interesting part was the double-kissing, and that was only in one scene. Mostly, I felt like they were just torturing the poor woman. I'm sure this wasn't Gold's intent. But the 90% of the sex in here just sounded godawful to me, like it wouldn't be enjoyable at all. Like I felt sorry for Layla for having to endure it. >.< Not the vibe Gold was going for. I honestly thought Gold portrays a really authentic and realistic poly relationship between everyone which you don’t always get in reverse harem.

The book is based in London and I do wish we had gotten a bit more description from the setting. However, not having that extra description didn’t take away from the story for me. I just personally like having more descriptive settings. Star Rating First off this book is a reverse harem which means there is one woman with more than two male love interests. In this case there is one woman and three men. If you are not interested in this type of romance I would recommend you skip this review and book. Trigger Warnings Once you start reading this book you won’t be able to put it down until the end! So make sure you have plenty of time to devote to this story so you won’t end up reading until the wee hours of the morning and having a book hangover like I did! This one was so refreshing to get a full and complete story that was not only written really well but that had great story and character development. WARNING: This review is coming straight out of reading this longer than necessary book and WILL contain minor spoilers.
