About this deal

A fantastic read with a plot that left me guessing and a cast of very real and well imagined characters' JAMES DELARGY Firewatch is an adventure game developed by Campo Santo and published by the developer in partnership with Panic. The game was released in February 2016 for Linux, OS X, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in September 2016, and for Nintendo Switch in December 2018. The story follows a fire lookout named Henry who works in Shoshone National Forest. Henry interacts with his supervisor Delilah using a walkie-talkie, with the player choosing from dialog options to communicate. His exchanges with Delilah inform the process by which their relationship is developed. Over the course of the summer, Henry and Delilah appear to be menaced by unseen forces and have to unravel a years-old mystery. Limited Run #32: Firewatch (PS4)". Limited Run Games. These are: This convinced me that a national fire service was essential for the war. I promised the local authorities that I would get the brigades returned to local government after the cessation of hostilities. Naturally they did not want the N.F.S. to be permanent, and they took the change very well, as did the firemen themselves. In due course, Mr. Chuter Ede returned the brigades to counties and county boroughs but not to county districts. (2) Tom Hopkinson, Of This Our Time (1982)

AFS firewomen carried messages, supplies and food. Firewoman Gillian Tanner drove a petrol lorry through burning London to supply water pumps with fuel. For her bravery she received the George Medal for her "coolness and courage" during "intense bombing" on 20 September 1940 (TNA HO 250). The story isn't pretty, quite painful to read about the disturbing scenes that occurred in the past. In April 1940 Fire Authorities had been made responsible for the selection and training of these ‘Supplementary Fire Parties’ and a further 75000 stirrup pumps were authorised. Some 20,000 were issued to police authorities and others were issued for use by Air Raid Wardens, units of the Home Guard, and for the protection of crops in rural areas.
