Cut two stalks of scallion and a few slices of ginger. Cook with the pork bones at barely simmering temperature for two hours. The scallions and ginger will remove the raw smell of the bones. A: Lightly oil the basket first. Stir and move ingredients frequently while cooking. Immediately remove when done.

The second broth recipe for our hot pot adventure comes from my friend Ali’s recipe for her Easy Thai Curry Hot Pot, a coconut-based broth similar to the one in my 5 Ingredient Thai Pumpkin Soup recipe, minus the pumpkin. The inner pot can be used on the stovetop to sear food before cooking, too, and has handles, so you can take the pot straight to the table. On top of that, the steam release switch is one of the easiest and safest steam release methods we’ve used when testing the pressure cook function on a multi-cooker and the steam valve has a cover to reduce splashes and noise too.I will explain how to prepare the two most common hot pot soup bases. The first one is the most popular, i.e., the Szechuan style spicy hot pot broth. The second one is the utterly non-spicy version I grew up with, the Cantonese herbal soup base.

Chinese dumplings are the perfect ingredients for the Chinese hot pot. Making Chinese dumplings is a custom in China during the New Year when all the family members will take up their respective roles. The options are endless! You can use an Instant Pot to make rice, cook hard-boiled eggs, and more. Plus, they're great for large families or anyone who meal preps. I'm not even a good cook, but I love making a huge batch of rice in it, then using the same pot to sauté veggies and simmer with my favorite tikka masala sauce. Whenever I make that meal, my coworkers often say that my lunch smells great — and I always tell them how easy it was to make in my Instant Pot! A straining ladle (skimmer) is useful for nestling any food morsels to poach in the broth and retrieve it easily once cooked. 7. The popular food cooked in the hot pot If there’s one simple cooking method that crosses over nearly every Asian cuisine, the hot pot may be it. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Mongolian, and more. We also liked the fact that it’s available in multiple sizes, so different sized households can make the most out of this model’s combination of price and performance. However, we do find it a bit light on presets compared to a lot of Instant Pots, though at least they’re easily customizable. Also, be aware that there’s no air fryer functionality on here. So, if you want a multi-cooker to replace all your other kitchen appliances, this might not be the one.No matter how large your family or how big your needs are, the Duo comes in the right size for you. When preparing side dishes or cooking for 1 or 2 people, the 3L mini is the Duo for you. For families up to 5, go for the 5.7L (our most popular model!), and for larger families, parties, or full-week meal prep, the big 8L is the smart choice.

Fresh herbs & aromatics (spices and curry paste, garlic, fresh ginger slices, chili oil, Thai basil, scallions, cilantro, lime)Aim for 6-8 cups of broth in your Instant Pot to start. You can freeze extra broth in cubes to add as needed. The Cantonese hotpot is a clean broth with plenty of fresh seafood, meat, and vegetables. It emphasizes significantly on the flavor of the broth. Other favorite vegetables are carrot, sweetcorn, and daikon (radish). They all add flavors and can withstand prolonged boiling. Follow by the main items
