About this deal

I can`t say that this is my favorite survival sleeping bag on the market, but it`s certainly a great option especially for those on a budget. Another highlight are the antibacterial and antimicrobial treatments on both the inside and outside of the bag to reduce the need for laundering during long-term travel, even in hot weather. Another key travel related feature of the Jungle Bag is the Paratex anti-bacterial treatment on the outer and inner fabric. This anti-bacterial & anti-microbial treatment helps reduce bacteria growth, so you don’t have to worry about your sleeping bag starting to smell when you’re unable to clean it for a while. The bag opens all the way with a sturdy zipper, thus doubling as a blanket. The hood can be drawn tighter with the provided cords. The Paratex Antibacterial inner lining discourages the growth of bacteria and helps to prevent odours; ideal for when sleeping in tropical environments.

Please note, we cannot guarantee the level of comfort a particular sleeping bag will provide. For instance, a sleeping bag is not designed to be used on its own out on a wild and windy moor. It will have been designed to be used alongside other protective equipment such as a tent or bivouac shelter where common sense deployment is an absolute necessity. Likewise, a 'jungle' sleeping bag, which will be a lighter less-well-insulated item, will suit the climate it was intended for and still be used in a sheltered location. Looking for the ultimate summer sleeping bag for your tropical travels? Look no further than the Snugpak Jungle Sleeping Bag! With its spacious, square-shaped design and lightweight construction, this sleeping bag is the perfect choice for any adventurer on the go. normal bags would suit all year as four season bags but are big and bulky - 3-4 season depending on age. Moreover the sleeping bag can be worn as a poor man's thermal cloak - see the pictures! Materials and temperature ratingIt boils down to the risk assessment here if your risk assesment identifies that the temperatures in that area at that time of year hit -15 then you need to ensure that the risk is reduced. I'm not sure how the Cadets work but simply put if the equipment is provided by the parents then you have to go by that, i.e they buy exactly what you tell them and you take the risk. If the child has anything other than what you have detailed in your risk assessment then they don't go.

Well, as all experienced preppers know, there is no one best survival sleeping bag. The best option for you depends on your personal needs and preferences. Versatile Use as a sleeping bag, unzip and use as a blanket, or zip together with another Jungle Bag. That said, this Snugpak sleeping bag isn`t waterproof, just water resistant. You can`t truly use it outside without shelter, except in dry weather. It`s much more practical to use the Jungle Bag with a tarp shelter (like the Snugpak Stasha G2) or inside of a tent.what’s the gains from this in terms of experience etc, surely hill walking during the day then returning to a heated house or barn would not remove from the aim of what you're trying to achieve. That said, the Snugpak Jungle Bag is a highly versatile survival blanket perfectly suited for prolonged travel in harsh conditions, although it does have shortcomings.

Built-In Bug Net A roll-away bug net keeps spiders, snakes, and other critters out of your bag at night. It`s seriously durable thanks to its high-quality workmanship. In a survival situation you need a sleeping bag you can trust and you can certainly trust the Jungle Bag to hold up for the long haul. Is the Snugpak Jungle Bag Right for You? But that's not all - the Snugpak Jungle Sleeping Bag also comes equipped with an inbuilt mosquito net, making it the ideal choice for areas where bugs are more likely to be a problem. And when the nights get hotter, you can even open it out flat and use it as a duvet for added comfort.outside bivvy bags add half a season, indoors a full season. squeezing them all together makes a difference too as they share their heat with each other in non child protection ways. i'm not keen on a 'buy it yourself' solution because those who can afford it will get the wrong thing, and those who can't will miss out, and thats not what the cadets, in my view, exists for. i'm not daft, i'm not going to risk the cadets and my own future on a dodgy temp rating, ceeding control to idiotic parents and then being the fall guy when it all goes tits up. these are indeed issues - we're looking at the loan pools, but we're such a low priority that we've been bumped off for kit/clothing before and don't want to take the risk that it'll happen again - and the AT pool (where they have high-end civvy kit) is off limits to us.

The Snugpak Jungle Bag isn`t my favorite survival sleeping bag, but it is in regular rotation for my wilderness outings. I expect to use it even more this coming summer. What I Dislike About the Snugpak Jungle Bag it might be worth looking at some of the other surplus kit out there if price is an option, french or dutch bags are well made and can be cheap. even 20 quid civvy bags are okay if you find green ones, more comfy as they have polycotton liners but the outer shell is often a bit weak as china doesnt make good outdoor eqpt fabrics. the best cheap outdoor fabrics come from vietnam. I also love the versatility of this sleeping bag. You can use it on its own, unzip it into a survival blanket, or zip it together with another Jungle Bag to create one big sleeping bag. As an extra defence against mosquitos and other critters, the Jungle Bag features a mosquito net, which can be zipped over your face to provide an excellent barrier against biting insects at night. Just to reiterate, the best survival blanket or survival sleeping bag is a totally personal choice. Not Much Insulation Although it performs relatively well in temperatures down to 45°F, this bag is really best for minimum nighttime temperatures about 15°F warmer than that. It`s certainly not suited for winter wilderness survival.
