Ich weiß nicht, ob man für die UHD Blu-ray nochmal ein neues Master erstellt hat, oder ob es sich (wie bei derzeit noch vielen UHDs) um einen Upscale handelt. Doch selbst wenn es nur ein Upscale ist, so ist eine sehr deutliche Steigerung der Bildqualität (insbesondere bei Details) zu erkennen. Eine gute Stelle für einen Bildvergleich ist Kapitel 4 (die Hafenszene). Hier kann man sehr deutlich eine gute Steigerung zur normalen Blu-ray erkennen. Natürlich gibt es im Film auch eher weichgezeichnete Bilder, die hat die normale Blu-ray allerdings auch und ich würde sagen, dass es sich dabei eher um ein bewusstes Stilmittel handelt, oder aber an den entsprechenden Stellen eine andere Kamera benutzt wurde. As is customary in movie sequels with bare bones plot, this reuses footage from the first two mummy films, seemingly just to pad it all out. But not really adding anything.
