All four Clans send cats on a mission to find the water and save the Clans (this whole "saving the Clans" thing happens a lot) but time is running out and the fate of the Clans is resting on the shoulders of five warriors who become four, and an apprentice who knows more than she's telling.... Meanwhile in ThunderClan, cats are growing up. Poppyfrost is due to have kits, and six-moon old kits are being made apprentices, mainly Dovekit and Ivykit. Dovekit becomes Lionblaze's apprentice and Ivypaw becomes Cinderheart's. Life goes on for a while, then Dovepaw starts discovering her gift of sensing animals and events that are far away from her, and she finds out that something is damming the stream, causing the drainage of the lake. I can just tell this is going to bring further drama to the series, with potential jealousy between Ivypaw and Dovepaw. I hope it isn't going to be too much of a headache... Jayfeather and Lionblaze still don't know who the third cat is supposed to be. It's either Ivypaw or Dovepaw...you don't know which until a few chapters into it.

(Given that this book is like 11 years old I don't know if anyone cares about spoilers, but I feel it's worth saying.)In 2013-2015, the sixth edition was launched as Dawn of the Clans, and the novels in this edition are as follows; The Sun Trail, Thunder Rising, The First Battle, The Blazing Star, A Forest Divided, and Path of Stars. There are many characters, so the wild cats are introduced as Clans such as Thunderclan, Windclan, Riverclan, Shadowclan, Skyclan. Clans adapted themselves according to their domain, and they have conflicts, but they are also concerned for each other. Lionblaze and Jayfeather discover that Hollyleaf is still alive. Jayfeather and Dovewing go to the Tribe of Rushing Water, where Jayfeather has time-travel experiences as Jay's Wing, and makes the decision for the Ancients to leave the lake. The ThunderClan cats choose Stoneteller's successor and leave. [source?] This book starts out in conflict; the Clans are on the verge of fighting one another because the lake where the Clans make their home has been mysteriously drained of almost all its water. RiverClan starts causing problems by claiming the land where the lake used to be, and through all this the Clans grow thirstier and thirstier.I am sure that our youngest will want to read all of the different Warriors series, and I plan to read them right along with her. In all honesty, reading this made me remember why I really love this series. I don't know if it was the fact that for the first time in a long time I didn't really know what was going to happen, or if this was just a particularly compelling volume for me, but it really gave me that "I'm twelve years old and reading about magic cats and having the time of my life" feeling. Plot - 4/5 - Pretty good and what I really liked was how it started with more of a spark compared to the previous book. It really drew you in! But then for a bit I didn't feel like loads happened and then as it moved on stuff started to happen again which was pretty cool. Not as dramatic as some Warriors books, but this one carried a lot of intrigue, possibly setting things up for the next book?

I think this book is very good so far. I am almost done with it, it is very mysterious and evil. You want billions of things to happen and others to not, but you cant because all the things have already been written. For example: You dont want any other cat of ThunderClan to join the Dark Forest, but Millie is too concerned of Briarlight that she doesnt notice how much Blossomfall and maybe Bumblestripe are hurt by it. So Blossomfall goes and joins the Dark Forest from hurt and hatred. Blossomfall thinks she is doing the right thing but is blinded by hatred for her mother, she thinks that she will be a stronger better warrior, but doesnt realize the terrible mistake she has done, what all her Clanmates will think of her. Blossomfall does not know she will be killing innocent cats. She thinks doing this will cost her nothing. I have grown attached to the different characters and I feel like I have to finish the series to find out what happens. Sometimes the plot seems a bit overblown and contrived, somewhat like a soap opera. But the stories are very engaging, and I just have to know what happens next.. Less is more. A lot of things in that book seemed to drag on and on after the point was already made. ALSO I'M STILL RAGING ABOUT FLAMETAIL'S REALLY UNCALLED FOR, UNNECESSARY DEATH, AND EVEN MORE SO FOR HONEYFERN'S DEATH IN SUNRISE - LIKE, DID ERIN HUNTER GET BORED AND JUST GO 'HEY I'M GONNA KILL OFF SOME PERFECTLY GOOD CHARACTERS FOR NO REASON NOW!"
